Beckett Ridge Golf Club
About
Beckett Ridge Golf Club was designed by Jack Kidwell, a well known name in Ohio golf. The course has a classic design that is inlaid with meandering streams that weave through stands of mature trees. The rolling landscape was deftly incorporated into the golf course. The layout offers a variety of holes ranging from long to short, tight to open. It is definitely a course that requires some strategy. One of the most memorable holes is the par-5 fifth. It measures 541 yards, but this downhill hole plays much shorter. There are out-of-bounds on either side and the tricky fairway slopes right to left but with some strategy and a little skill it is possible to make it home in two. Beckett Ridge is one of Southwest Ohio's best golf courses.

10th Hole at Beckett Ridge Photo submitted by Wahwah87 on 04/10/2013
Course being upgraded.
Has been 3 years since I last played Beckett Ridge. There is a new owner and you can tell he is trying to get the course in much better playing condition. The fairways and greens were in excellent condition today with a few brown spots on the fairways but did not hurt playing condition. Sand traps are in need of sand as some of traps are rocky and muddy (why not fill in a few of the traps, like a few other course, to minimize maintenance cost). Cart paths are in need of repair as holes makes for rough ride. All and all if new management continue improvements this course is going to be a gem in the future. Off course amenities are lacking currently. Highly recommend playing this course as it is a good layout as long as you can keep ball out of the bad traps.
Good and challenging Course
Nice course with some challenging holes, played there as a kid in the 70's when I was grown up. Have wanted to play but timing never worked out...just retired from 30 years in military and know have time when I visit parents. Glad to see new owner making improvements. Maybe add a gym (24x7)for residentss of BR, have seen at other clubs and seems to work out well.
Beautiful course.

Beckett Ridge
Great course, great price. May be a bit too challenging for some golfers. Two in our group thought the course was too difficult.
Beckett in July
Took advantage of a hot deal on the 4th. Greeted by friendly new owner who is making significant investments in the course, clubhouse and restaurant. Hot and humid day and practically empty with course and greens in good shape. Private homes flank many of the holes with lots of elevation changes. Challenging good value.
Friendly Course
The course itself is in good shape and is player friendly. The staff was very accommodating and the atmosphere is relaxed. Played on a Sunday afternoon and it was very kid friendly.
Nice course
One of my favorite courses in the Cincinnati area. I usually only play this course 3 or 4 times a year because it usually takes 5 hours per round due to being busy. My most recent round only a little over 4 hours. The fairways and greens were in great condition. Greens weren't extremely fast but rolled true. Plenty of undulation on every green. Several pins were placed on sloped portions of the green making it challenging to sink a putt. Plenty of bunkers and forced carries over water.
Conditions improving, but no water.
Have not played here in a few years. Obvious work on-going on sand traps, you can tell they are improved. Course conditions pretty good, greens were very nice. Downside - no drinking water on course...all jugs were empty and the temp was low 90's! Staff indifferent to our being there, no interaction after our round at all inquiring about our round or enjoyment.
Don't waste your money.
Tee boxes, fairways, and bunkers for the most part are terrible. Greens were fun and challenging. Pace of play was slow. Club house/pro shop is terrible, no food at 12:30. Not worth the money or the drive out there. Legendary Run is a much better course for a few & cheaper.
Not For The Beginner!!
Nice course. Some very tough dogleg par4s.
Need some sand in the sand traps.
Fairways were in good shape, rough was thick.
Pace of play was great....3hrs 15minutes for the three of us.
BUT....greens were nice but they didn't mow them or change the cups that morning????
Usually these greens are very fast, but with the morning dew and the scuff marks from the day before, they were pretty slow and bumpy.
Layout
This course has always had a championship layout, but the new owner is finally making this place a fantastic test of golf. Greens are quick with a lot of undulation and this course will be extremely demanding off the tee. Long and tight holes.
Has so much potential but not so good
First time here this year, third time I have ever played it. Had to wait in pro shop for several mins until somebody even came out. Then he had to find somebody to check me in. Took 10 mins just to pay them and it was like I was causing an issue! Do they not want people to play there?!? Started on the back side and played in an 1 hr and 20 mins. Turned to front and got stuck behind a foursome and took almost 3 hours to play front side! 3 groups combined behind them and still waited on every shot! Terrible! No range nothing. Course was in fair condition, bunkers were worst I have ever seen at any course. We made the decision to not play out of them on the first hole. The looked like a quarry! Greens were extremely slow with a good amount of ball marks. Probably will not be back this year. Save your money and take it somewhere else!
Quick!
Pace of play was fantastic. Greens are rolling very nicely. 18 was unbelievably quick.
Great Day of Golf
I was only in town for for a few days. But with the amazing weather I had to come out and play. I was amazed
At the great condition of the course. The green are as smooth as any where I have been all year.
Most challenging and well manicured public course in Cincinnati
I was a member of Beckett Ridge Country Club back in the 90's when it was a private club. I know it play in a league there and every weekend during the season as it is always challenging and well kept. The greens are fast and the layout is challenging with five par 5's and five par 3's. The new owner took over the club last year and had made several noticeable improvements to the course as well as the club house. The head golf pro, Theo Grubb, is top notch and gives great lessons and clinics for junior golfers. I highly recommend this course as it is one of the best public courses in the area.
Never Again
After booking a 12:30 tee time I arrived at the course to find the pro shop closed with a not to call a number with any questions. Since there was no way to leave a message due to a full voicemail box I tried again. Someone picked up and immediately hung up. I texted voicing my concerns and was responded with sarcasm and insults.
Later that evening I called again and got a rude answer. After starting to voice my complaint I was rudely interrupted saying that the course was closed, he did not care, and to complain to golfnow. I let him know I would be filing a complaint and voice my issues with them over his behavior he simply said, " I don't care about your opinion because you are a loser."
The person showing such rude behavior? None other than the owner of the golf course! Guessing by the full voicemail box I was not the only one he treated so rudely. In fact I ended up playing with 2 others wronged by this man at Pebble Creek later on. They are in agreement with me that you can find much better courses with much better value within 15 minutes of the location of this poorly kept course. ( I assume the positive reviews must be friends of the owners because I played with a foursome in September and thought the course was the worst condition I had seen ). There are plenty of better options. Walden Ponds, Pebble Creek, Wetherington, and Eagle Tree. I highly recommend any of those fine establishments over this course. Buyer beware!
Another note. The folks here at GolfNow were outstanding with their customer service experience. And after repeatedly trying to contact the owner they too were given the rude treatment by the owner. If this is how he treats patrons, not to mention a business that is promotion his establishment on their site, do you really think he will take care of a piece of property?
If anyone thinks this is sour grapes or a score to settle, I had no prior experience with the owner other than this horrible one today. I am making this effort so no one else has to endure what I did today.
Outstanding course
First time [playing here. Outstanding course. Superb greens, hilly, and for it being cold, the sand traps were fluffy. Highly recommend Beckett Ridge!
Great Fall Golf
Played a late fall midweek round in a little over 3 hours on a course in great condition. Always challenging layout with elevation changes and heavily contoured greens. Greens were nearly perfect and the fairways green and lush. Course is staying on top of the fallen leaf problem (a big deal in this part of Ohio in the fall) very well and no balls were lost to fallen leaves along fairway edges. The course is in the best shape I've seen it in over the past six months. Four stars instead of five due to some pretty worn tee boxes and some bunkers could use a little attention. Course would be worth playing at well over the amount I paid.
Great Course and Value
Our 3-some really like playing at Beckett. We play a "low stakes" game and count all our strokes. Anything can happen on most of the holes, and that makes for a lot of excitement and entertainment. On hole #14 one of our players had a birdie 4 and another had a 10! Great hole variety and a really good challenge. We highly recommend it.
