Beckett Ridge Golf Club
About
Beckett Ridge Golf Club was designed by Jack Kidwell, a well known name in Ohio golf. The course has a classic design that is inlaid with meandering streams that weave through stands of mature trees. The rolling landscape was deftly incorporated into the golf course. The layout offers a variety of holes ranging from long to short, tight to open. It is definitely a course that requires some strategy. One of the most memorable holes is the par-5 fifth. It measures 541 yards, but this downhill hole plays much shorter. There are out-of-bounds on either side and the tricky fairway slopes right to left but with some strategy and a little skill it is possible to make it home in two. Beckett Ridge is one of Southwest Ohio's best golf courses.

10th Hole at Beckett Ridge Photo submitted by Wahwah87 on 04/10/2013
Nice Course with Good Challenges.
Tough Pin Placement, Beautiful Day with Great Views...even saw a pair of Foxes on one of the greens as we approached.
This place is grossly mismanaged
What a way to mess up your game! I'm not sure why play on weekends here is so painfully slow. I suspect this facility schedules double the tee times of other well run courses. In fact when we called the pro shop after four holes to complain and get a ranger out on the course to deal with bottle neck the said "sorry we don't have staff to deal with this issue" I guess you can interpret this as to mean "we got your money, sorry about your luck". I will never play here again. Not even if you charged me $10.
Snails pace + rude staff = never to return
I used to be a fan of this course, but after yesterday, I will never play there again. Let me preface this review by saying that I'm fully aware that most courses will be pretty busy on Labor Day, especially during the 9-11am tee time window. That said, I've never experienced a pace this slow before in my life. The starter even commented on how poorly managed the course had become and ridiculously close the tee times were to each other (7 minute intervals). So, we finally tee'd off (30 minutes after our scheduled tee time) and played the first hole pretty fast (par 5)... as we rounded the corner to the next hole, we were very surprised to see that there were three, yes, THREE groups waiting to tee off (again, unprecedented in my experience). Being stacked 2-3 groups deep was consistent through the first seven holes, it wasn't until holes 8 & 9 that we had less than a 10-15 minute wait to tee off. Based on our original tee time, it took us 4 hours and 15 minutes to play 9 holes - totally unacceptable in my opinion. (As an aside, they didn't even have a concessions cart in operation the entire time we played). We chose to skip the back nine b/c we didn't have another 3 hours to spare. I happened to see the starter on our way out and told him about our experience, he apologized and suggested that we talk to the manager and ask for a raincheck. Honestly, I didn't want to be bothered with it but my friend convinced me it was worth a shot. The pro shop manager proceeded to tell me that it was a holiday and that's just the way things are (again, unacceptable). He then told me that b/c we had used a coupon issued through GolfNow.com (approved by the course) that we still got a good rate for 9 holes we played and to let it go (totally beside the point, the coupon was for 18). He said he could escalate it to the GM but, at that point, I didn't expect a different outcome and had wasted enough of my time and walked out. This has very little to do with the money that I'm "out" and everything to do with very poor customer service and bad management. It's unfortunate b/c it's a pretty solid course, fairly well maintained and only a few minutes from my house. I realize this is my experience/opinion and may not reflect the experiences of the golfing majority... If you do choose to play here on the weekends and want to avoid a 6 hr round, plan to tee off between 7-8am or after 1pm.
Lots of variety
Course was in good shape overall, but with the rains the day before, did not allow carts off of the paths. This created alot of long walks - and not because I hit it in the wrong place. Greens are big and fairly quick, and roll very true. There is OB everywhere, since this is a golf community, but its not claustrophobic. I spayed a few, but only 1 went OB. Lots of hills, making short par 4's somewhat tricky.
Very good course
The course was well maintained, friendly staff. Very good value.
A well maintained, challlenging course
This course has a bit for every style of play and is thus a popular destination. It is reasonably priced and the greens are well maintained
Great course with beautiful views
The course was very nice and well maintained. Fairways were well taken care of and the greens were very nice. We were also able to relax and take our time which is alway a plus.
Great course, beauitiful fairways
Challenging, well maintined long course, with wide fairways and beautiful rolling hills. Not to many trees
Course needs to learn how to plan an outing.
They had an outing tee off at 1 pm my tee time was at 2:30. I played the front nine in about an hour and a half. It took 45 minutes to play 10 and 11 because I caught up to the outing. They were having a chipping contest between 9 and 10 on a practice green. do this after you finish on the course. Other than that everything else was fine. If your going to have an outing and still accept tee times, keep the regular golfers in mind, and when we tell you about it be a little professional and don't wave your arms in the air and say, "well you know that happens with outings", because no it doesn't i've played in about 100 and never had 3 groups backed up on a par 4.
Great Course
First time playing 18 on this course. The course was challenging enough but still fun. It was a very nice and well kept course that for $20 you can't beat it. I recommend this course to anyone
Will never play there again.
Great course but this place needs better mangement. There was not a starter on the first tee so the golfers were trying to figure out who was golfing when. At the turn we waited 20 minutes to get our food because the person waitng on us did not know how to operate the register/computer. My golf court rain out of juice on the 17th hole. Afterwards we went into the clubhouse to have a drink around 6:00 (Sunday evening) and were told they could serve us one round and then they were closing up.
Great value!
With GolfNow discount we played 18 holes on a Sunday afternoon for $24. Course is in great shape and has great views overlooking Fairfield and surrounding areas. Only negative I found is that the parking lot and cart paths need some work. All in all, great round for a great price!
Nicest course in the area
If you haven't played Beckett ever or if its been a while, treat yourself. We played Friday evening for $22 on Golfnow and you can't beat that deal anywhere in the area even at twice that price. Check it out!
Immaculate
Course in great shape, can't wait to play again. As usual slow play plagues amateurs. I wish public courses around here would employ marshals.
best deal in Cincinnati
For the money and condition this course was in, I don't think you could find a better deal in Cincinnati. I normally try to play a new course once a week and i can't remember the last time i've seen a course that impressed me. This is a must play and I can't wait to go back.
Nice Design - Needs Attention
A well designed course that would be excellent if given more attention and money.
Play requires thinking about risk/reward and you can't just "start here and keep hitting until you get there."
Unfortunately, the maintenance of the course is not what it should be and it has deteriorated since I last played here approximately 5 years ago. Clubhouse is in downright disrepair and additionally is not as clean as it should be.
Since I played at a rate of only $20 through GolfNow it was still a good deal. For $30 or over it would not be a good choice.
Always in great condition. Excellent test. Good Greens.
I've been playing Beckett for 15 years. It is always in great condition, drains fast and the greens run true. An excellent test of your golf skills. A little tight, but not overly so. The course superintendent has been here over 30 years. Rolling hills, several water features, medium, short and long par threes. Long ball hitters can be rewarded on the par fives with a shot at eagle 3.
Challenging course but needs work
Letting a 5-some go off at 630AM on a Sunday??
Some of the amenities are a little rough but grateful for electric carts and plenty of water on the course!
OB makes for several challenging tee-shots from the blues.
Excellent course challenging layout.
love the layout of the course. I played from the tips which only adds to the difficulty. Plat was a little slow but it was 1600 on a Thursday so that is to be expected. greens were very well maintained as was the rest of the course. I will definately play here again.
OKAY course - can tell they are up for sale
$43 was overpriced for an 11:15 tee time. Only $29 after 1:00 is about right. course itself in decent shape. Greens were slower than normal, but it had rained most of the morning. Cart paths DESPERATELY need repaired and are borderline unsafe in a few places. A round here for $29 is absolutely worth it. No beverage cart on a Saturday was another minor issue.
