Fun course, they are working on the fairways
It’s a fun course layout! Greens were in good shape, but they were working on the fairways in several places. Had sod on multiple holes, and some dirt showing on the fairways. Pace of play was a little slow to start, but the marshal came around a couple times and got things moving. We got a great deal online, so I definitely can’t complain.
I played it in early August last year and the greens were looking much better this time around. Overall worth a drive from time to time.
Simply horrendous
Let's start with a positive. Greens are in good shape and the staff is great. However, to call it a goat ranch is an insult to goat ranches. In terrible condition, and I mean awful. Cannot distinguish the fairways from the rough. Mostly dirt no matter where you hit it. Tricked up and ridiculous layout. Forced layups everywhere. Course was so dry and hard that nearly every ball hit in the fairway ended up deep in the trees or rough. Cannot believe that people are willing to play this course. Never, ever again for me. Way overpriced. This place used to be a great track. A real piece of crap now.
Greens are best around
You won’t find better greens on any public course around. Cim has one fairway that is still pretty rough but they’ve clearly been working their tails off to get everything back in shape after the winter kill over the last two years. Aqua is in great shape throughout, but yea Cim has the one fairway (#7 ) that is still healing in. No carts on it is helping. If you miss the fairway the course is extremely tough, soooo hit it straight. Again, you won’t find better greens at any public facility around here. All 36 are great, played them all this week.
Fairways were decent and the greens were solid and rolled very well.
Challenging Greens!
Greens were in perfect shape.
Fairways a little less than ideal, but we’re maintained.
Greens were very challenging with slopes and turns. (I’m a new golfer and don’t think I had less than a 3 putt a single time on my 18)
But overall it was a very enjoyable day out. Me and a friend played 18 in about 3.5hrs on a Wednesday, so the pace was great.
I will be back.
Great muni course
The layout is great, there are holes where you have to hit your yardage off the tee since there is a force carry over the water. Some par 4s play long and most par 3 are short . Greens were I. Good condition and rolled pure. Fairway needs work, some areas there are no grass, just mid. Tee boxes are okay. But for the value, this is a great course. Since they have 2, 18 holes, you can choose which to play.
Staff are.very friendly. Pace of play on weekend, it was slow since we had a.2.some.and we had 4 some in front. Waited every shot, but it was expected. Had a blast. Shot my best round of my life this day. Even par 71.
Course under renovations
The fairways are being repaired currently so there were patches of dirt and thin grass. The tee boxes and greens were amazing and the fringes were in good shape
Course needs some love
Course layout was fun and challenging. However, the large patches of dirt made the fairways difficult. It seems they are working to correct this, but at the time of this review it took away from my experience. Additionally, some of the greens were in pretty rough shape. For an additional 15-20 bucks there are many better courses in the OKC area.
Pass on Cimarron “National” golf course
The name makes one think this is an awesome course with fairway grass in immaculate condition and plush fairways. While the layout of the East course with water is unique and the gentle rolling hills add character, this course is in worse shape than any of Oklahoma City’s 5 public course we’ve played this year. We were very disappointed that our nice drives would hit reddish dirt and go nowhere. Or most of our shots landed on dirt in between tufts of grass and we were in the middle of the fairway. Putting on the sloping greens was impossible as they were so smooth and fast the wind would blow an uphill putt back down at us if it didn’t go in. I had to call the clubhouse that sent out a ranger that allowed us to play through as a 3 some had an individual that thought he could take 4 shots across the water and never made it! All the while backing up play with no regard for the ridiculous slow play. We won’t play that course ever again.
Cimarron National
The greens are in excellent condition. Tight, semi-fast, and run true. “Amen Corner” was great fun. Big water to clear on some, but tournament worthy.
Cimarron Natl.
Course was in ok shape. Pace of play was terrible. Marshal passed by and asked about pace of play but nothing was done.
Great course
We played this just coming out of a winter freeze and the greens were in amazing shape. Fairways and tee boxes to be expected for winter golf. Overall this course was a great test and in wonderful shape for the first round of 2024. Highly recommend trying all the local courses.
Great course
If you don’t want to deal with the snobby country club members and you want to have a fun round of golf, this is the place to go!
