I understand times are rough right now but they charge $75 on an air rated greens no flag I don’t think it was fair
Was not warned that greens were just aerated and the holes were playing with zero flags or markers
Was not warned that the greens were recently aerated probably the same week. And also all the flags were not on the green so we had to drive up before EVERY shot to place a stick in it because it isn’t like they put all the holes in the front of the green, they were scattered and you can’t play golf without knowing where the holes are. VERY POOR job for a great course especially CHARGING normal price for all this. Terrible job and I probably won’t be coming back here again.
Great variety of holes
Very nice layout, plenty of challenge but fair. Used all my clubs in the bag. Number 9 (used to be #18) is a beast uphill if you are playing from the tips. My only complaint would be that the fairways on several holes are parallel so you have to stay on your toes unless you want to get beaned. Looking forward to playing it again in the summer under better conditions.
Great play for all
This course layout is perfect for groups with varying skill levels .its open enough to keep the ball in play and hilly and long enough to make you use all the clubs in the bag.
Sand and water don’t come into play for accurate hitters. large greens have challenging pitches
Really nice course but why cart path only
Very nice course but no need to be cart path only. So dry a flipped cigarette would set the place ablaze but nope you can't drive to your ball . Added 30 min to the round.
Poor Experience
Very early in the season but the course was just not ready for play.Greens are in terrible shape and will take months to recover from aerating far too late at the end of last year.
Experience was also marred by the staff letting far too many groups out on the course. Starts were delayed 20 minutes due to frost and everyone started on the 10th but then they let other groups out on the 1st just as the earlier groups were making the turn. Five hours of misery. i will not be back..
Thank you for expressing your concerns, and we do apologize for the length of your round. An average round here at NYCC is 4hrs and 30 min. Due to cart path only this will slow down overall play automatically. We are more then confident that the greens will be back to perfect condition as the weather changes. We apologize on the issues that you presented. We would like to hear further information about this. Please contact The Director of golf, as our main concern is our golfers experience.
Golf Now booking
I strongly recommend booking your next round of golf using Golf Now. Their HotDeals are fabulous.
Bad Greens
We Needed Information Green Conditions(airated)...
I mean, about as good as it gets
I’ll keep this brief, I play here in the early and late portions of the season because I don’t have it to pay $100 a round and I play a ton of golf. Having said that - this place rocks. Greens are awesome, conditions are always great. Take it from someone who has played just about every North Jersey/NY area course, this place is hard, fair and fun. I would suggest if you are super new to the game and still learning maybe give this one a wait.
NYCC - nice course
This was my first time playing New York Country Club and I can see why this used to be a gem. Nice layout where you will have some tricky shots into greens with some serious elevation changes.
Had some fabulous chili at the turn.
Definitely want to play here again when the course is in top form.
Nycc
Great timenof the year. Course is in great conditions now. Greens are fast... watch out
Seaview Stay & Play Golf Package
Thank you for your review! We apologize that it was cart path only. Our main concern is to protect the course this early in the season. As we begin our spring cleanup we will be back on our normal course conditions and cart rules schedule.
