Nice & Enjoyable..... Recommended
At this time of season, conditions of the tee boxes (chewed up), bunkers (water, etc.) and greens (choppy & divots) and of course leaves (lost balls off the fairways), makes this a potential 4-5 Star destination.
Good local alternative.....
Hidden Gem
3 nines to choose. A couple drivable par 4s. Large fair undulating greens. Narrow but not that many O.B. stakes. Use every club in the bag. Staff is elite, super friendly yet will also tell slow players to move it along. Great place to spend an afternoon. Play it.
Great round
Love this course. It’s challenging and very well maintained. It rained heavily the day before I played, but the course was mostly dry.
Great time
Had a great time playing this course. Some great par3s mixed in with 4s and 5s. Will be back again.
Brutal Pace of play
People in front of us were incredibly slow and were taking chain smoking breaks before teeing on every hole. Took 5 and a half hours to play with 2 people.
Old Reliable
Keep the ball in play and you’ll enjoy … trees, rough and water … Stay clear
After rain, greens were unpredictable.
Slow groups in later times keep you from getting full 18 …
Wonderful round of golf !!!
Nice course but narrow.
Nice course with challenges.
Enjoyed playing the pines and woodlands.
Pines 1 very long for a par 4 when #2 is the same and a par 5 ?
Overall a nice challenge.
One very hot day at Blue Hill GC Pearl River
We enjoyed playing Blue Hills GC. We played the Woods and Lake.courses
Pros: friendly staff. We got right out as a threesome
Easy course to follow and shot a 96
Fairways and tee boxes were in good shape for this time of year
Castle Clubhouse pub was nice. Happy hour $5.00 draft beers. Hamburger platter was good
Cons:
No drinking water on the course. The heat index temp was over 100 degrees. There was however a cart girl we saw a few times.
Slow play for mid week in the heat. 4.30 hours
Greens were just aerated on the Lake nines.
The aeration schedule should have been noted on GN before we signed up
A lot off divots on the greens. Players were not repairing their divots for the most part.
Cart GPS screen was not working.
We would play it again.
HONEST REVIEW- Pluses and Minuses
HONEST REVIEW
-The course conditions were very good.
- Pace of play was average. 4:45 pace
-There were no water jugs anywhere to be found on the course near any tee boxes. I expect a course to provide complimentary water every 6 holes or so to golfers.
- For a course that promotes walking it is not very walker friendly for those with push carts. There are very large cart path curbs everywhere which made it very difficult and annoying to maneuver my electric push cart around the course as I was constantly having to avoid these curbs which resulted in a lot of extra walking. There need to be more curb cutouts for walkers with push carts, especially near the tee boxes, which will allow better access around the course, while still prevent riding carts from going where they aren't supposed to be.
