Great course Photo submitted by 5959steven on 11/08/2016
Beautiful course
Canyons is a great course. The elevation changes make it a very interesting course to play. And they are making improvements to the facilities.
Poor management and customer service
We booked through golf now for 1;00 on July 4. When we arrived at the course and checked in, they informed us that they were closing early that day and the carts had to be back at the clubhouse by 4. When asked how they expected us to play 18 holes in 3 hours or less, they just said to do our best. There was no warning in advance at booking about closing early. We would not have booked at this course if we knew this ahead of time.
Love the Ups and Downs
I really enjoyed this round at The Canyons. The diversity of terrain and those great holes that bend around drop off provide some of my favorite holes in the Tulsa area.
The greens seemed to be much slower and challenging than my previous rounds here.
Thanks for always having friendly and welcoming staff and a well stocked pro shop.
Look forward to another shot at this gem.
The Bermuda Greens were in great shape
Overall the course was in good condition and well maintained, particularly the greens.
Must play
Greens were in great shape and true. Elevation changes, views, and friendliness of the staff make this a must play in the Tulsa area. Pace of play was excellent.
Great course!
I was so surprised when I showed up at the course. Gives country club feels with an impressive pro shop and practice area. Course itself was in excellent condition(with the exception of a few GUR patches). It rained a ton the night before we played so we were cart path only, but even with that the pace of play was consistent and we didn't wait on any tee boxes. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone! Also, bev cart was on point! Longest streak we went was 2 holes without seeing the bev cart. Food at the pro shop was also delicious!
Awesome!!
The course is in excellent shape!! Great greens and fairways. Friendly staff. Awesome value!! The views are amazing!! I only gave amenities 3stars due to construction/updates being done and we had to carry our clubs from the parking lot to the clubhouse and my dad is 70 yrs old so it was extremely difficult for him. Would highly recommend!!
Beautiful Course
I always have a good time playing this course. The pace of play is generally pretty good. There have been a few times in the past 7 to 8 months where two and three groups ahead of me were going extremely slow and the wait time was extremely long. On one occassion I left after thirteen holes because this happening. However, when the pace of play is going along more normally, it's lot of fun.
Course Is in Terrible Shape
I've been playing at the course for over 45 years. Over those years the course got better and better. It had been my favorite Tulsa area course.
This is the 1st time I played there this year. Bottom line:it's in terrible shape. With all the rain the Tulsa area has had, there's no reason for there to be so many bare spots. Off to the right of one hole, I noticed quite a number of pallets in a pile, They apparently had laid some sod in the past, but it sure wasn't evident. I don't know if the CIty of Sand Springs hasn't allotted enough money for course maintenance or not. But, sadly, I will never play there again unless I hear that the course has gotten back to the condition it's been in the past
