Great course Photo submitted by 5959steven on 11/08/2016
great view, still a fun course
Had not played this course in 3 years. Fairways were great,
always a challenge with uphill & downhill lies. Some greens
have some problem areas, but putted true. Would like to have
seen more water jugs on course, better markings for distance to
green, and it was unfortunate that some golfers from one of the
groups in front of us, was dragging their shoes and not repairing
divots. You could tell by how fresh these were. Otherwise, had
a good time.
Awesome course, can't beat the price
This course was better than what I was expecting! Definitely worth playing.
This course has lots of elevation changes and challenges
Course was tough however it would play much easier next time based on knowing the elevation changes and course layout. I enjoyed the course even with it being a 95 plus degree weather day.
excelent views
This course could be great with the views and terrain. It does need some attention. The sand traps were holding water, the greens were having health issues and there isn't any water on the course. It appears the the sand traps haven't been rebuilt in years, the greens appear to have the same problem. With some money and planning this has the location to be a beautiful golf location. It needs a mater plan including rebuilding greens and tee's, addition of water and refuse on the course rather than only at the pro shop, lengthen some holes, halt cutting away old growth trees, and lengthen some of the holes.
Great views, greens were great
What a fun course to play. Difficult but fair for a mid handi capper.
Trees, Hills and a great course...
The course was in great shape, love the rolling hills and each hole is a bit different. It's a fun course but can be tricky. #10 has a beautiful view from the tee box...
Nice layout and scenery
Neat course. You need to know the layout or you could get in trouble.
A Perfect Change
What the course offers in layout (hills/ ridges, etc) is an awesome change to the rather flat courses around Tulsa. Playing for the first time was a bit challenging as far as navigating the course, but WOW, what a change to the other area courses. I'll be back!
The canyons at blackjack ridge describes terrain.
Terrain requires they provide gas powered carts for power to follow course up and down the hills. The course terrain of beautiful rolling hills can challenge an individual and instill intimidation for a beginner, but if played utilizing basics & smart pisitioning, it makes an enjoyable game.
very nice! !!
Greens were very maintained and short fairways. Fans on certain greens. Tee boxes were nice
Don't bother the groundskeepers
This was our second visit there in 35 years. The first was more pleasant and appealing.
Our one word discription of this trip; apalling.
We felt as if we imposed by playing the course while groundskeepers were watering and spraying. The spray was not identified, but too sticky to lay a club in. Two groups were made to wait while the fairway was treated. We skipped that hole with the thought of playing it out of turn, but in the interest of proper pace. That would have worked were it not for the sprinklers that started before sunset.
It seemed that grounds staff was obligated to cause distraction as they collected near the 9th hole for a performance evaluation of an obviously absent coworker.
We may try this course again in another ten years, but we are through for now.
Have played the many times and like the fact it is built within the hills.
Have always liked playing the course and don't mind the drive from broken arrow
A fun course to play
Sunday evening play is slow but that was expected. It has the fun of a mountain course in Oklahoma.
They are definitely getting better!
I know that there are many people who might review this course a little negatively, but in most cases I disagree with them. I find that for the money it is a lovely course. Since the last time I played, all of the construction projects have been completed and a few areas reworked which make it nicer.
The course conditions when I played were just fabulous. Not Augusta, but I was on a $13 special. Augusta can't do that and I don't expect it for the price. We were out there in the afternoon. There was a foursome of real jerks in front that never allowed our twosome to play through so we had to skip them, but I've met those same jerks (I'm self-censoring the terms I'd like to use) on every single course I've ever played.
There is still room for improvement. main thing: in the Tulsa summers, I'd like to see watercoolers on the course. But they're pretty chill when I bring in my drinks to stay hydrated so I can't whine too too much.
Player Friendly
They treat you right at this unique, up and down course.
well maintained and always a pleasure to play.
For the less than $10 green fee, it was well worth it!
The greens were in good shape and played faster than expected. Overall course was well maintained considering all the rain we had earlier in the week.
Awesome course with great hole diversity
I love playing at the canyons. The greens are fast but not too fast. The fairways have good dog legs. The place is just great for beginners to scratch golfers. It's one of my top 3 favorite places to play and $25 with a cart for 18 gorgeous holes is pretty awesome too.
Great value!
Had a great time! Can't beat the price that was offered for a full round of golf!
great job on greens
need to rotate tee boxes, course is not long and does not require drivers rather than irons to keep in play. grass gets torn up and takes longer to recover when using the same boxes over and over
