About
Silver Lake Golf Course sits along Staten Island's North Shore, offering a scenic and challenging layout that is one of the five boroughs' best-kept secrets. The course has a classic layout with postage stamp-sized greens and narrow fairways. At just over 6,000 yards from the back tees, the golf course appears shorter than it plays. The tight layout demands accuracy throughout especially on the lengthier holes, of which there are several. The course offers interesting risk-reward opportunities and holes 12 through 14 are considered by locals the "Amen Corner" of the North. The entire layout will test your shot-making abilities. In addition to the challenging round, Silver Lake is known for having consistently excellent conditions with some of New York's best greens, which is why it has garnered a strong following among local players.

Not bad
Course was in good condition fairway and rough wise however greens were super sandy due to the aeration , pace of play was excellent just one flaw…. For some reason the starter started putting guys out on the back 9 later into the morning which resulted in long wait times on 15-18, this normally doesn’t bother me but I was literally the first group out it’s frustrating when you’re making excellent time then all of a sudden long waits on the home stretch

Welcome to NYC golf
For the new members to the NYC golf community. I read these comments about pricing at NYC public course and realize many are misinformed. The NYC Parks Dept sets the rates at all NYC municipal courses. They also charge hefty concession/lease fees to the operator of these courses, while also getting a cut out of ever round/cart/reservation that is made. NYC and State also collect its taxes from all sales at the course. Yes it is business but NYC has no involvement with these courses (city property) other than reaching into the public players pockets and taking their money. (I have no affiliation with any course management and have been playing NYC public golf courses since the NYC Parks was running them.) Rates at all NYC golf courses have gone up every year for the last 5+ years, all done by NYC Council.
