Silver Lake Golf Course
About
Silver Lake Golf Course sits along Staten Island's North Shore, offering a scenic and challenging layout that is one of the five boroughs' best-kept secrets. The course has a classic layout with postage stamp-sized greens and narrow fairways. At just over 6,000 yards from the back tees, the golf course appears shorter than it plays. The tight layout demands accuracy throughout especially on the lengthier holes, of which there are several. The course offers interesting risk-reward opportunities and holes 12 through 14 are considered by locals the "Amen Corner" of the North. The entire layout will test your shot-making abilities. In addition to the challenging round, Silver Lake is known for having consistently excellent conditions with some of New York's best greens, which is why it has garnered a strong following among local players.

Rain golf in Statten Island
Had a great round of Rain Golf. Course did play longer, because of the wet conditions. The tee boxes and the greens were good, the fairways are excellent. The course is a bit up and down, but that is the fun to play. The breakfast at the clubhouse was great. There isn't any range to warm up though.
Home away from home
Amazingly friendly staff. Totally felt like home. Course was in great shape and I had a blast. Tee box to green was nearly immaculate and consistent on every hole!
Nothing special
Knew what I was getting myself into. Typical Staten Island course. Course is run poorly. They let singles go out one after another. One dude was so high I’m pretty sure he’s still laying out on 15 fairway. Wish they would manage the course like jersey
The working man's private course!
Love Silver Lake. The staff is amazing and the keep a very busy public course in amazing shape.
Upset with staff
I was upset as I was a single playing with a group of 3 and was forced to ride with the single person from that group. I have been to countless of courses and even at silver lake as well where I have been able to ride by myself. I love the course but that rule and staff memeber was not very pleasant
Great course conditions
Drainage work performed on the course has improved conditions tremendously.
Greens
Was hoping by now that the greens would be filled in since they were aerated the first week of April. Hopefully after this weekends heavy rains the grass with grow and the staff can roll them? Fairways filling in and new turf areas as well as moving tee boxes around helping with pace of play and Re-thinking strategy off Tee. Starters usually in good mood but some different faces at turn seemed a little annoyed about something? Maybe girls High school match had something to do with it? We were 3 behind 4some playing from tips so had to wait some but still finished in 4 hours which is fine by me!
Tree Trimming
Crew hard at work finally cutting branches off of left side of hole 13! Much needed as they were sticking out way to far and eating up wayward tee shots on already difficult par5. For some reason they left a few overhanging branches on right side of 18th fairway which seem to have magnetic like powers on my tee shots!😂 Greens still filling in after recent aeration but “The Lake” is coming along nicely. Keep up the hard work. Thanks
Working Man’s country club?
Airated greens 🥬 filling in nicely, lots of time and effort by staff to Re-route water and moving Tee boxes around to give grass time to grow ( Hello LaTourett! ) Thanks to complete whiff by weatherman, wide open! Biggest issue is cost of cart-43$ excessive also 6$ for domestic cans of beer is outrageous. By far favorite of 3 public courses on Staten Island but looks like the “ working man” may need two jobs to ride and enjoy a few beers on course here.
