About
Silver Lake Golf Course sits along Staten Island's North Shore, offering a scenic and challenging layout that is one of the five boroughs' best-kept secrets. The course has a classic layout with postage stamp-sized greens and narrow fairways. At just over 6,000 yards from the back tees, the golf course appears shorter than it plays. The tight layout demands accuracy throughout especially on the lengthier holes, of which there are several. The course offers interesting risk-reward opportunities and holes 12 through 14 are considered by locals the "Amen Corner" of the North. The entire layout will test your shot-making abilities. In addition to the challenging round, Silver Lake is known for having consistently excellent conditions with some of New York's best greens, which is why it has garnered a strong following among local players.

I will never play here again. Simply put. Oh, and there's a water main burst and the back 9 is kind of flooded.

winter golf
for January on a warm day the course was in excellent, dare i say pristine shape. some water hazards were netted off but considering its January in NYC i assume they planned for Ice. greens were fast, and fairways were soft. Pace was good, at times even quick. staff very friendly, and they even had a snack cart.
only issue is the size of the course, it is very tight. but considering the price and overall atmosphere, for myself a terrible golfer with little skills, it was great.

THE LAKE
My last round was with the Siller T2T Veteran's Day outing. Silver Lake is always maintained exceptionally well. The Staff is outstanding. The snack bar has gone downhill over the last few years. Wrong orders for food. Slow service on the Veranda. We now leave and go elsewhere for lunch.
WELL MAINTAINED
FRIENDLY HARD WORKING STAFF. THEY NEED TO GET THE CITY OF NEW YORK TO ONCE AGAIN PLUG THE HOLE IN THE WATER MAIN THAT RUNS AND LEAKS FROM UNDER THE COURSE.

Thanksgiving Day Round
Narrow tree lined undulating course with mid to short tee to green length.
Good stafff
Book it online with a cart but since it rain the whole day yesterday the courses is soakin wet so no cart just walkin only the staff very accommodating making adjustment to the rate without a question.

Tough hills

Please fix your website
The course's website offers a shuttle from the Staten Island ferry to the course. An important feature for a city where most people don't own cars. Also an incentive for Manhattanites to play the course.
So, it's distressing to get to the ferry, call the course for a pick up, and be told that "there is no shuttle today." Then, person at the desk does not know what bus to take or the price of cab fare.
Gratefully, the NYMTA website provided bus information and the helpful bus driver confirmed the bus stopped at the course, after a brief ride.
The website should indicate when the shuttle isn't running and provide information for public transportation for when it isn't.
Other than that, it was a great afternoon of golf.

Enjoyable day
joined by enjoyable stranger. early arrivals ( 15 minutes or more ) must wait for exact booking time even if course is empty. Greens are very good condition. Lots of leaves due to fall conditions.

Good conditions despite the weather and aeration
Its been a very dry September and the conditions are very good considering the weather. The greens have been aerated, some today, but the greens are in terrific shape and are very fast! Perfect golfing weather today! The Hot Deal was a bargain!
