Beautiful course
Staff was very accomodating and although there wasn't a starter on this Monday I got paired by accident with two pros, Jeb and Dustin. Man, could they play and they were very friendly and tolerant of my weak mis-hits. I found the greens on this course very difficult but the rough around the fairways survivable. I really enjoyed playing alongside these two very good players. Oh yea, the course was in great shape.
Nice course poorly managed
While the course has lots of challnges and in good condition. we were disappointed that at check-in we learned we only had 45 minutest to play seven holes before a golf event would shotgun start off holes 1-7. No solution was offered (have us start on the back nine? delay the shotgun until other patrons cleared 1-7?). They blamed the problem on Golfnow! This is the second time something like this has occurred at this course.
Decent course, nothing special, many sloped fairways, many plateaued greens, nice views.
I had been told by others that this was a course I had to play. I played it and it was OK. Nothing overly special. I had to drive approximately 65 mile each way and won't be in any hurry to drive that distance to play this course again.
challenging for women
Greens are very challenging for beginners as they are very fast and tilted front to back or side to side but great practice
First time on the course - a real value and a great venue for a senior golfer
I really enjoyed playing the course and watching my son score well on a really beautiful sunny day - can't ask for much more than thatt
New owners doing a good job.
Course came under new ownership recently. Front nine has been re-routed and is undergoing landscaping. Turning #7 into a par 5 is a welcome change -- it was really too long and uphill to be a reasonable par 4, and it makes a much better par 5 than the old "birdhouse hole" (which has been shortened to a par 4). Converting the old #6 par 3 into a driveable par 4 (new #5) may be a problem -- there were several foursomes backed up on the tee when we played. Overall, the greens were in great shape, and much less slick than in past years (though that was partly due to the damp weather).
Great value for the money using a Golf Now tee time -- would consider it average value based on the regular greens fee.
Somehow seems more "welcoming" than when it was the Elks Club.
Nice course and improving
I played when it was the Elks and some of the greens are quite a challenge. The course is well maintained. They have recently change hole 4,5 & 6 and so there is a temporary t-box on one hole. The changes help keep people from slicing into traffic and remove a bit of a gimmicky dogleg around a bird house. The greens keeper told me the goal was the make the course more fun. I think it's a little easier now. Hole 11 is not great since it's all on a slope, but the is variety and we enjoy it.
Super back subpar front
Conditions not as pristine as past but still very good. Too many change on front 9 which plays like an executive course.
Outstanding course
The staff was extremely friendly. A huge storm came up as my group was finishing the first nine holes. The folks in the pro shop immediately offered us a credit for nine holes at a future time. This has not always been my experience at other courses.
great value,excellent maintenance,friendly staff
would recomend replay, good challenge but is playable for high handicapper, greens and tee's are well maitained and staff is friendly, the layout is open and play should move along i give this course 9 on scale of ten for a public course
Bring every club...
... and then hit 'em straight. If you're in the fairway, scores are out there to be had. Even the rough is fair, so plenty of shots are salvageable, but the greens are very challenging and there are plenty of opportunities to get into trouble left and right on nearly every hole. Of the courses in the area, this is my favorite, though a much more reasonably-priced twilight or walking special is needed.
greens were in great shape
glad I played but probably will not play it again, course was in great shape
course is in great condition, a couple tough par 3's and No. 7 is a long uphill challenge.
Enjoyed a great afternoon with friends -- will definitely be back !!
Hidden Gem
Was very pleasantly surprised by the former Elks Lodge Course. Don't be put off by the clubhouse/pro shop. They are very spartan, but I think it is because they are pouring the money into the course. The fairways were pristine, and the greens were some of the fastest, best kept, I have ever played on a public course. The course is rolling hills, with lots of elevated greens. The course itself is quite wide, so getting off the tees is easy, but the greens are very quick. Enjoy.
Good greens.
Very interesting layout. The greens are in very good shape.
We played as a twosome, not very busy. So we got around in about 3 1/2 hrs.
This course has great views
You must be able to drive the ball straight. A few greens are tough to keep the ball on. Easier to walk the front nine than the back
Love the place
The Elks course is great some hard holes and some not so hard and in great shape. Always enjoy my rounds there and with GolfNow the price is awesome. They have a regular Monday through Thursday regular rate that makes it the best beal in the area.
nice layout
The elevation changes are challenging and provide great mountain views.
