Mountain View Country Club

The course had many beautiful views. We had a great time. The course itself we found pretty challenging. Fairways and putting greens were in awesome shape. So glad we decided to play here!

Stunning view of Tussey Mt. (local mountain ridge in Boalsburg, PA), local houses, and neigboring farmland. Elevation changes and changing wind can make club selection challenging as the course weaves its way through undulating country side. A small stream, numerous ponds, frequent wetlands, and sand traps on most every hole provide numerous hazards to avoid. Most fairways are pretty wide and separated by sparse trees to adjacent holes. So those who often spray the ball will still have a decent chance to be in play, especially if you are good at low punch shots. Conditions are usually very good throughout the entire season with semi-tight fairways with medium firmness, low-to-medium rough height, medium-firm sand traps, and receptive greens that break true with medium-to-fast speed. Place has a recenlty overhauled restaurant/bar with a good selection of reasonably priced food and drink options. Golf services are completely separated from the hotel, restaurant, bar, bathroom facilities. The Pro Shop is tiny but has the essentials. Both it and the member club storage are basically small storage sheds adjacent to the parking lot. Everyone that works there is plesant and helpful. That could any of a number of different faces depending on what day and time you visit. The prices are competiitve relative to local courses and I think Mt. View has better amenities and twilight golf prices than most.

Overall this a great place to golf around State College. Book early as weekend tee times go fast or get out during an afternoon earlier in the week as play is significantly lighter.

I have played this course several times in the past few years and it's always in decent shape. Some of the greens are huge and can be very fast, especially downhill, so you need to be a good lag putter if you want to score well. The pace of play was good in spite of some slow players on the course. If you're in the State College area looking for a good course to play, Mountain View is a good choice.

Front nine was uninspiring. The back nine a joy with beautiful vistas and a great layout.

Set up tee time online, got there early and they were very accommodating. The starter was very personable and interactive was the golfers. Met one of the employees while playing my round, he was very polite and truly liked working there.

I look forward to playing there there again soon. We'll worth the hour drive!

I got the 550 t time knowing I wouldn't be able to play 18. Played 2 holes got to the 3rd hole and a 2some was waiting on the t. Another single was in front of them with 2 4somes .This course is known for slow play guess most of the players r from centre County so it all makes sense to me now

It was a great day of golfing, even though the course was a little wet from a shower we had that morning. It was still a great day of golfing. I just don't play quite as well on a damp course. The course was in excellent condition as usual.

Course is in excellent condition. Better than I remember from 3 years ago. Greens are fast. Fairways are well maintained. Bar and restaurant is great for lunch and a beer after the round.
