About
Surrounded by the Pocono Mountains, the Pocono Hills Golf Course (formerly Fernwood Resort & Country Club) was carefully carved from wooded hillsides. Condos and other residences were later built near the golf course and although they are situated quite close, the round is still enjoyable. The layout is tight with narrow fairways that are lined with trees. The front nine is easier than the back where more dramatic elevation changes come into play. Many of the greens have elevations of over 50 feet, making approach shots a formidable test. There are also a number of tricky doglegs that are practically 90 degree turns. The layout rewards straight, accurate drives and the greens putt fast and true. There are a number of challenging holes, especially the 10th and 14th, but overall Pocono Hills Golf Course is approachable enough for all skill levels.

Great course for a great price
This is a great course that doesn't get enough credit due to the other courses in the area. The conditions are great and the entire staff are wonderful. To be able to play here for less than half price is an astounding deal.
Nice course.
Scenic course right in your backyard if staying on site. Friendly staff. Challenging holes, Warning ⚠️ have your “A” game on holes 10, 14 and 17.
Solid course
Great greens all around, hole 8 is very muddy. Overall a great time and highly recommend
We love this course
Yesterday play was exceptionally slow. From May through October we play close to once a week. About half of those rounds are played at this course. On occasion it's been slow before but never as bad as yesterday. We're hoping that it was just because it was one of the 1st really nice days of the season.
Another disappointment was that in the past as soon as you would arrive a friendly person would greet you at your car with a cart, and a friendly person would be available to return the cart. Neither happened this time. If this is a personnel situation, it is one that we can live with, but we did miss the friendly interaction.
Course was nice but..
Nice course but the staff was late, we waited for 30 minutes before someone showed up to the pro-shop at 9am.
Great Day!
It was my first time out this spring, and I thought I was in for a long day. The course was in great condition, but a little wet in the usual places. The greens were in decent shape. The tee boxes were in good shape, and the fairways we're nice and cut. look forward to playing there again
I wish there was some sort of practice area, maybe a putting green or hitting nets!

We always highly recommend this course.
This was our first time out this year and the course is in great shape.
They were strictly enforcing the 'Cart Path Only' rule which meant we got a great deal of exercise. Hope after April they lift this rule.
Typical mountain course with lots of challenges, including a couple of long holes and some very narrow fairways.
Very friendly staff but remember, they do not take cash.
