Review
It’s a great course to play if you wanna get in nine holes
Great starter course
Fairly wide open, not long at all. Very tricky greens so your short game and putting will be tested. Restaurant at the end is a hidden gem.
Terrible Staff
Booked through GolfNow for an early tee time. Arrived and said no golf until 9am due to frost, but had just checked in and paid via the app. Was told there’s nothing he can do, take it up with GolfNow - no offer for a refund. “We don’t see a dime of that.” The staff is usually unfriendly even by Philly terms (when they’re actually in the clubhouse) and would screw up an Easter egg hunt. Just go down the street to Skippack.
Poor Customer Service
The owner Cindy is a menace. Unprofessional and aggressive. Needs to learn about proper customer service. She should follow the lead of her employees and be kind and understanding to her loyal customers. When a business messes up they should take accountability. Cindy does not. She blames the customers for mistakes she and her employees make. I left my wallet at her course. They found it and put it in the office. I called to retrieve and was told over 10 times after 10 calls they didn't have it. Long story short they had it all along. Didn't receive a call until after I spent over $100 to replace the contents of the wallet that they had for over 10 days. They were too lazy to look. Was offered 1 free round of gold ($50 value). When I went to use it Cindy was accusatory and blamed me for losing my wallet. Didn't want me to get the free game. Told me "her employees would never offer that". Shame on you Cindy! Avoid this place. Course isn't great either. Not worth the drive unless you live within a few miles. Otherwise just go find an open field with a ton of divots. Same experience... and the bees and mosquitos probably offer better customer service.
Nice walkable course..
Worcester is overall a nice little course - 9 holes, easily walkable, with a driving range. Pretty straightforward. That being said, greens are almost impossible to hold - they are inverse bowl shaped, and hard as concrete unless it rained the night before -so that's the hardest challenge, in my opinion. There are fairway bunkers, which is rare for the area, and some of the holes can be a little tricky, but forgiving too.
Easy, but enjoyable 9-hole track
I am a Senior golfer with a 19 handicap. I have played this course a number of times and this is the best condition it has been in. The greens were in great condition and fast. The fairways were in good shape. It is an easy track. I have taken my grandson (beginner) and wife (32 handicap) to play and they both enjoyed it. It is wide open allowing for a good pace of play. We played 9 holes in 1 hour and 40 minutes yesterday.
6 weeks in a row
I don’t have a home course and I don’t have time for 18 holes most days.
Worcester GC is the perfect spot for me to get 9 holes in each week, walking. For less than $25, I can hit a few up irons on the range, chip & putt, and walk 9 in 2 hours or less.
The course is a public course that gets a lot of play. Quite a bit of it from higher handicap players.
Some spots on the course show some wear and tear, but not to the detriment of the playing experience.
I’ll be back once a week until the weather dictates that I can’t.
Perfect for weekday 9
Fourth week in a row to walk 9 at Worcester. Next week will be 5 in a row.
Friendly staff upon arrival, $20 to walk 9 in 2 hrs or less.add a $5 warm up bucket and decent putting green and it’s a solid place to play.
Is this course country club quality? No. But, it’s challenging enough to make the drive worthwhile and an enjoyable walk.
Good Value and Pace
Best way to quickly get in 9 at a good price. Tee boxes can be rough. Other patrons are terrible at fixing pitch marks on greens. Could not expect more for the price.
3 weeks in a row
With not enough time to play a full round the last 3 weeks, I decided to play Worcester for its 9 hole layout and $20 fee.
First week went so well, I went back again and again. It will be my go to spot for a 9 hole round for the rest of this year.
It’s a public course that gets a lot novice players and even families with younger kids, so tee boxes (for white tees) are a little beat up at this time of the year. Played from blues yesterday and most tee boxes were much better.
Greens are in good shape for a public course as well. Roll pretty true.
Staff at check in have been friendly and helpful each week.
Irons only range is adequate for a quick warm up and putting green is good to get a few putts in pre round.
Rain check?
Still on hole #1 it was pouring rain and we had to return the 2 carts and rented clubs. Not even a “good bye” from the staff, not even the remote idea of proposing a refund for a later date…
Somethings ok somethings not ok
The course seems to be in the process. Some greens, fairways and tee boxes just ok and some are pretty rough. A greens keeper was in the way on the last two holes. His cart was in front of the green we were trying to hit up on. He finally left. And on number nine he was turning on the sprinklers in the middle of the hot afternoon. But for twenty dollars the value was ok. Short course. Not so challenging for better golfers.
