Located just south of Allentown, Pa., Locust Valley Golf Course is less than hour from Philadelphia and the Poconos and only 15 minutes from the New Jersey border. The course is player friendly enough for high handicappers to approach with confidence but there are a few challenges in store as well. The 6,504-yard layout is a manageable length but there are still a few holes that will test your distance. The terrain is mostly flat though there are a few subtle contours that can be tricky. The fairways have a lot of variation with some that are wide and forgiving and others that are tighter and demand greater accuracy. You'll also have to watch out for the occasional water hazard. Locust Valley is not the most challenging golf course in the area, but it's one of the best values you'll find in town.

Not too shabby
A lot of the course is swampy with a lot of divots on a good amount of the course. The greens are hard to read and look like they got spray painted. Overall this is a good course to play if you don’t have anywhere else to play.
Disappointed
Been a few years since playing here. Lots of rumors over the years of it closing. Thought I'd give it s go. The 2nd cut grass is terrible. Way too high, weeds, and bald patches. The main fairways are just ok. Greens were fine. Also, there was no drinking water or vending machines anywhere on the course. I have no plans to return as the area has much better maintained courses. Overall, quite disappointed.

Sad Times
This lovely little course is rumored to have been sold for housing.
Unfortunately, with the cost of maintenance, this will be a recurring theme.

Course was a lot of fun. Had a group of 12, but followed an extremely slow group of 4. Long day in damp misty conditions. Tricky greens and pin placement today. Overall nice day.

I was particularly impressed with the conditions considering the weather recently. Rough was down without a buildup of clippings. Kudos to the crew!!!
Great value!
Except for the sudden thunder shower , that held up play for about 30 minutes, this course is very playable for all levels of golfers. The score card illustrated each hole design very well as my wife and i were first time golfers here. Would like to return in the future when the conditions are a little dryer.
Great Course
This is one of my favorite courses. A real shame it is closing. Hope the housing development going in its place serves the community as well as this golf course has served the community and South Eastern PA.
Player friendly
Everything except the sand traps was in great shape. The pace of play was fantastic and the pro shop man was courteous.
Beautiful Course
I would consider this course a hidden gem. Course layout was very nice, fairways and greens were well taken care of.
Nice place to play
I really liked the course. We were pretty packed on both sides. May have been because it was Fathers Day and all of the fathers were on the course. We still enjoyed our day on the lynx. The staff and the players were nice and welcoming. A really nice place to play if your up for the challenge.

Well trapped greens
The course is in great shape. The greens roll very well. both sides of almost every green are trapped. One of my favorite courses anywhere.
