Located just south of Allentown, Pa., Locust Valley Golf Course is less than hour from Philadelphia and the Poconos and only 15 minutes from the New Jersey border. The course is player friendly enough for high handicappers to approach with confidence but there are a few challenges in store as well. The 6,504-yard layout is a manageable length but there are still a few holes that will test your distance. The terrain is mostly flat though there are a few subtle contours that can be tricky. The fairways have a lot of variation with some that are wide and forgiving and others that are tighter and demand greater accuracy. You'll also have to watch out for the occasional water hazard. Locust Valley is not the most challenging golf course in the area, but it's one of the best values you'll find in town.

This course has great value. Under. $50 with cart for a course in very good condition. Greens were in fine shape.
CLASSIC LAYOUT
Course was in great shape. Love the layout. Great value for $35 weekday. Definitely playing again soon.
A rainy day
The rain really settled in after the first nine. We could only play 7 more. Greens recently aerated but putted ok.
Locust Valley
The sand traps make it challenging. Course in good shape. 6th hole restrooms absolutely filthy.
The pace on the course was slow. No starter and no ranger to monitor play. Behavior of golfers was questionable. Very loud and unaware of golf etiquette
Very Nice Course
I played this course about 3 times before. The course is in very nice shape. The sand traps had enough sand in them so you could hit out. I usually look for deals on GolfNow and for $40 on a Sunday, I couldn't best it. The course is pretty wide open so playing from a different fairway is an option when the ball goes off course. I'll definitely be back.
Slowwwwww! Beer cart stopped, no notice.
Two groups on front of us were extremely slow. Couldn't get around them. Never saw a ranger.
Greens must have taken on a ton of rain and were soft and that caused cleat markings everywhere. Need to roll the greens.
The beer cart went around twice then never to be seen again.
Nice course
This corse is well maintained and nicely groomed. It's not too challenging but that's why I like it. Oh, very nice sand in the bunkers, the ball comes out as expected and it's easy to rake.

Forgot how good this course is. The trees keep getting in the way. Fair, challenging and fun to play
Great Time
Good course to challenge your ability to control your ball in sometimes narrow fairways. Greens are in excellent condtion.

staff was very helpful course was in good shape especially after all the rain the day before greens where well maintained and was surprised was not cart path only very happy with day
Tight
The course is in good shape. A challenge to play. Just have to keep it out of the trees. The green are quick, undulating and difficult to read. Most of the greens are pinched in by two bunkers in the front. Almost wants you to play up short and pitch close and 1 putt for the par, than hitting in the bunker or short siding yourself.
Good track
Fun layout. Fair course but plenty of trees just off the fairway to battle with. This course is generally firm. The greens are receptive though. We waited quite a bit for a group ahead throughout the day and still played 18 in 4:25.
The group ahead; some transformer hit two off every tee (this is mid-day Weekend) and apparently needed them. Then returns to the parking lot and abandons his cart and leaves. There should be a rule against that person having offspring.
Layout
The overall layout is okay however there are a few blind shots that would be better if you had an idea where to aim
Course was OK, but the pace was horrific. There were no marshals on the course and one group was 2 holes behind on a Holiday weekend. Behind us, it was even worse, probably a 5 1/2 hour round. The course is thst difficult or spread apart that a round should take more than 4:15-4:30. Greeens were ok, shape wise, but slow.
