Over booked
Cedar ridge over booked and we were left waiting for a cart for over an hour even we had already reserved a tee time
KS back to PA - Glad to be back
Have not played since 2009 after moving away, great to return as it was like it was 11 years ago. Great peaceful location, duffers dream.
Great Day of Golf
Had a good time golfing here. I went by myself and paired up with another single golfer behind me.
Staff was helpful. Course in pretty good condition.
Thurmont Maryland’s Maple Run’s Little Sister
I don’t often write reviews, but when I do they mean something. From the moment I pulled into this golf course, I knew I made a mistake. I was recommended to play this course because of the price early in the morning. I drove all the way from Baltimore to have a 3 hour front 9 on crab/ backyard grass, a green that looked like a crime scene, and a tee box that looked like a little league baseball infield. Greeting me at the turn was an outhouse latrine and a flaccid hot dog.
There’s not too much more to say. At hole 11, we passed the group in front of us who had literally no one in front of them and finished the round in 1 hour.
I almost forgot to mention, my friends cart died on him on hole 5 and we had to push him all the way to the turn.
To the owner/county/ or slumlord who owns this horror house, take some pride in your local golf course. Enforce the pace of play, put on some shoes and keep up with the course, and let my use the bathroom inside.
Worst Golf Course I've Visited
This was the worst golf experience I have ever had This is a fairly nice course, but the staff working there made it one of the worst golf experiences I've ever had. My group of 5 called the night before to book 2 back to back Saturday morning tee times since we had a larger group. On about the 5th hole, the marshal approached us for the first time and told us we needed to speed our pace up, yet at the same time, we had three groups ahead of us who we were waiting on. At the 9th hole the marshal came back and began yelling at a member of my group saying that he told us we had to split up once before. I walked over to speak to him and explain that we were waiting for the people in front of us, but he quickly sped off. At the 11th hole, a new marshal and companion approached us, and they were even more rude and ignorant to what was going on ahead of us than the first. A member of my group and the older marshal went back and forth for a few minutes exchanging disparaging remarks, and at that point, another member of our group came up. He explained that we were just trying to have a nice Saturday morning round with our family after we had to bury our grandfather this past Thursday. The marshal in charge scoffed, rolled his eyes, and disparagingly said "nice excuse". At this point I had had enough and said we would not be finishing our round, and we left. Ultimately, this was the worst experience I have ever had at a golf course and would not recommend this place to anyone. Absolute disgrace.
Cheap
Had a tournament going on at the same time and didn't cancel the golf now tee times so it's was crazy slow. Some were playing in groups of 5. If I didn't get a deal for 15 bucks I'd be upset but bounced around a bit and it wasn't to bad until the end.
Don't give these people your money
I've been playing here since I was a child with my dad and it's still the only place he likes to play, so this is hard to write but I'll never play here again
The staff is terrible and not friendly, but one old crotchety guy in particular is absolutely terrible. Every time I've had the misfortune to encounter this man he has made me feel like a burden for wanting to play for l golf at their little empty dog track. Yesterday he hemmed and hawwed at 3pm in the afternoon because it was "getting late in the day to start a round". He was a complete jerk who is costing the owner what very little money is coming through that course
the course is already junk. burned out with greens that you can hit dead center with a lob wedge and still end up 5 yards behind the green. once you are on the green putting reminds you of playing that game Plinko on the Price is Right.... it's impossible to know which way your ball is going to bounce as it makes its way somewhere toward the vicinity of the hole.
Combine the absolute disregard for the course with the staff and I wouldn't play here again if they were paying me.
Cedar Ridge
I have played this course a couple times before and those times were pretty good. This time the course was in a little disarray some of the greens were not so great weeds on some of the tee boxes were taking over and the cart we had cart #1 was TERRIBLE. On the back 9 it started to slow down and in some cases I could walk faster than the car it was moving. It moved well downhill. On uphill scenarios I had to get out of the cart and walk or in some cases I pushed the cart then jumped in it. It sometimes felt like I was on the Jamaican Bobsled team. Past weather has probably been the biggest issue for this course because I really think this course is worthwhile playing. JUST AVOID CART #1.
