Good Family Outing
I came to the course with my 8 year old son. We had a good time and the course was in good condition. If your looking for an affordable place to golf you will find it here.
Really nice course for the money!
If your looking for a pristine, well manicured course this is not the course for you. If you want a relaxed atmosphere and a fairly challenging short course this is the place. The greens are soft and slow. The course was a little wet but that is a common theme this time of year in south central PA. All in all I think this is an awesome golf course. I don't need all the fancy stuff. Just give me a tee box , a fairway, and a green and I'll be happy!
Easy and cheap
Typically not a busy course but on this day they had 4/5 groups on top of each other. Ground was very soft, plugging occurred often. Cart was very slow and almost ran out of juice. It's cheap to play there and a good place for newer golfers. You get what you pay for here...
undulating/challenging greens
getting on the dance floor can be a challenge with different slopping directions for each green. lots of fun… our 4some easily finished within 4 hours. some approach shots will blow your mind the first time played.
Great day of golf on cool afternoon
I played this course on an overcast afternoon with the temperatures in the 70's. The condition of the fairways and greens was excellent. i can't give an honest comment about the tees since many were closed due aeration. This is just normal maintenance and the tees should be fine in a week or two.
As far as the course goes the two nines are quite different. The front is wide open and the back nine is much tighter and requires more shot making. Especially be aware of 90 yard par 3 11th entirely over water. All of the par 5's on this course an can be reached in 2 with 2 well struck shots. However, watch out for water on the16th.
All in all a great day. Will return again with the great price received on golfnow.com.
Walked out without playing
I was in the area for work, had the afternoon free, and always enjoy playing new courses. Unfortunately I got stuck in some traffic en route and was walking into the pro shop right at my tee time. I felt bad and apologized, but didn't expect much of a problem because it looked to be pretty empty and just about every tee time was still available earlier that day on Golfnow. Based on the reaction from the guy in the pro shop though, this was the worst thing that's ever happened in his life. He lectured me about the late arrival and was not happy that I used Golfnow to book the time for some reason. While he was standing cross armed and glaring at me while I pulled up the e-mail confirmation, I decided to just leave and take my business to another course.
Though it didn't appear that it would ultimately be that hard to still get out, I'd had enough of the guy and felt it was better to spend my money at a course I know would treat their customers with at least a little bit of respect. I truly did feel bad for the late arrival and don't need to be coddled, but I also don't appreciate down right rude customer service.
For what it's worth, the holes that I saw looked interesting enough and seemed to be in pretty good shape.
The course was in very good condition and the speed of play was appropriate for the time and day.
I like playing this golf course because it has some challenging holes but also has some holes to help your round. The par 3, 11th hole tee shot is all mental as there is water in the front and woods behind it. The most difficult part is its only 80 yards. Overall, it is a good course and well maintained.
A Tale of Two Nines
A very well maintained public course. I was very impressed with the quality of the greens.
The front nine is similar to other farmland public courses: wide open fairways, parallel holes, not a lot of water or sand. Overall pretty easy.
The second nine is a different story: tight driving, water comes into play on many holes. Definitely more difficult than the front.
Overall a very enjoyable afternoon of golf. I would definitely make a return trip to Cedar Ridge.
course was so-so
tHE GOLF COURSE WAS IN OK CONDITION THERE IS A TURKEY FARM WITH A VERY UNPLEASENT ODOR ON THE FRONT SIDE
THE GREENS SORT OF FUNKY
Great course.
First time playing here. Thoroughly enjoyed my round. Course is challenging enough but also forgiving. Good conditions in fairways and on greens. Tee boxes were ok but found it difficult to get tee into ground.
Decent course. Could be a little better.
Seems they like to keep the grass a little longer there than most courses. But over all its a easy course to play its flat and mostly straight.
Not challenging but impressed.
Easy course, however was impressed by condition of course after having 4 inches of rain over the weekend and not a wet hole on the course.
Nice course, Fun to Play
Course has a lot room for misses and allows you to recover nicely. Well maintained and Fun to play.
You get what you pay for
Course was actually in better shape than normal because of all of the rain the course has received in the last few days. Greens were slow but true. Bunkers need more sand. Course was not busy at all. Beer is cheap.
Great value for your money.
Easy to get to, fun to play, this course is better than one of its sister courses, Meadowbrook. Nice, friendly and accommodating staff. Our cart lacked any pep and refused to run several times and there was no way you could locate your ball through the cloudy windshield. Overall, a nice place to play. Enjoy!
