Packed
Waited 15 mins at each t box. Nice fun challenging course just was a bit overbooked but it was also a weekend. Weekday okay May be better.
5 hour round
Slow play is tolerated according to the starter. No ranger to move players along. If you like five hours round then this is the course for you.
Unfortunate
I’ve played this course before and know it has a great reputation in the area. The course is in very good shape and it’s a top 10 public course for sure. Unfortunately they let a group of 18 year olds out there at noon and it completely hijacked the course. I’ve never in my life seen a twosome quit on the front and a threesome quit on the back before yesterday. One of the kids did actually apologize to us but the other three were just not good. One tossed his ball into the pond after he finished 18. Not sure if there’s usually a ranger or not but if there was one one any course I’ve played, these kids would be tossed before they finish 7. Not sure I’ll ever go back.
Spectacular
I love this course. Great layout. Greens were super fast. The course was in excellent condition.
The only drawback was slow play. We had four groups on one of par 5’s. We played the round in five hours.
Pace of play
Beautiful condition, greens very fast, bunkers full of sand . Unfortunately the pace of play with nobody on course managing was terrible. Waiting on every hole, threesome behind who are regulars were yelling to play faster with nowhere to go.
Nice shape
Would consider this my home course. After 20 years, the rough is finally filling in. Tees, greens and fairways have been great all year. Keep up the good work!
Cut one of those trees down on 7 and 2 trees on 16 and it's a better course
Dauphin Highlands
Course is a nice layout. Staff is usually very friendly, some of the older staffers can be unfriendly, snippy on occasion though..
They need a ranger. We got stuck behind a 4some that had 2 open holes in front of them, with a logjam behind them. Ruined the day. This was a Wednesday with a noonish tee time, not a weekend. Oblivious to their pace of play or perhaps not giving a darn. A ranger telling them to speed it up would be helpful, and welcome.
One of the best public courses in the region
Dauphin Highlands is simply put one of the best public courses in central Pa. An excellent layout, solid conditions, 5 sets of tees to accommodate novices to scratch golfers. Can’t sing the course enough praises.
