Deer Valley Golf Course in Hummelstown boasts one of the most affordable rounds you'll find in the Hershey/Harrisburg area. Since opening in 2005, more than 850 trees have been added and it has matured into a course favored by both visitors and locals. The layout features large, elevated greens and massive multi-tiered tees. From the golf course's peaks, the views stretch all the way to Hershey and the Blue Mountains. The winding layout twists and turns, doglegging left and right. It's a challenging layout round despite the absence of sand bunkers. There is however, thick rough and a number of grass bunkers to watch out for. Water only makes a brief appearance. Deer Valley Golf Course isn't overly challenging but for a fun and fair test, it's an affordable option that also offers some beautiful scenery.

Rangers are Worthless!!!
A group of four who the ranger apologized for were holding the whole front side up rather than pull them from the course or send people off the back as thete were no groups visible for at least three holes. I’m turn were had several holes on the front where there were four groups on a single hole due to rangers not doing anything but ride their cart around apologizing and their thumbs up their rears. Love the course but slow play always plagues this course with idiot rangers . It was all but 6 hours to play the round.
Poor Pace of Play
Always enjoy my round at Deer Valley Unfortunately pace of play was horrible The ranger was out there but never engaged or warned anyone to get things moving ,but it was a beautiful day and I’m sure he enjoyed the ride

Was overall a great outing. Staff was very friendly
Overall pretty good.
It was a good round. The pace of play was very slow, i ended up waiting for a while for each shot. On one of the holes there was still a hole without a cup in it on a green with another hole.

This is my favorite place to play especially when I schedule something last minute for myself starters are always really nice
Beautiful course but the pace of play was too slow
First time playing there. It is a beautiful course with great conditions in May. The putting greens were all going very fast and very difficult to read the breaks at least us and the pace of green were very very slow. I don’t know which group was holding up the pace. We finish 18 holes in five hours which I consider is very slow.

I love the layout of this course. It is a solid combination of challenging holes with enough moderate holes mixed in to make it fun.
As of mid-April 2026, the ground is hard, as we have had little rain this spring.
The staff is great to work with and extremely friendly.
Stunning Course
You’d think for the price it would be an okay course. NO! It is absolutely high end for price point! Green roll great, fairway is beautiful and overall I was very impressed with this course and their staff. I will absolutely come back to this course when I can.
