Hole #2 or #3, not sure! Photo submitted by tgmassey on 10/15/2012
Nice cart ride in the pocono's
We were surprised when we arrived that only one couple was teeing off on a nice June day.
We soon found out why as the course being short is
Very difficult for most golfers.
It had some nice views of the mountains, homes, streets, cul de sacs, etc as it seemed like we may have put a dozen miles on the cart in 18 holes.not sure what Fazio was thinking when laying out the course?
No parallel fairways here.
11 miles of cart paths
Great conditions and great price but what is more impressive is how large and private this course is. Not a single fairway runs alongside another so no need to worry about someone cherry picking your ball. A few blind shots and some changes in elevation especially with one mountain of a green on 13. One thing though..... The course design does not return to the clubhouse at the turn so use those golf cart coolers
Pocono CC
Scenic and challenging course, houses close to tees or green are not to intrusive, same with fairways. Careful on the 10th hole ( the one with swimming pool) net is too low.
Greens and tees in very good condition, 2-3 holes with some water.
The pace of game is effected by long drives from hole to hole ( the only down factor for this course)
Overall experience was great , I had a very good round and my friend appreciated the course as well.
Thanks
A secret discovered
I found this course quite by accident the other week - looked intriguing. First chance to play it today - what a gorgeous track! This was formerly a private golf club that was taken over in 2008 by the Township and made public.
The course conditions are outstanding. If you can hit it straight, the driver can be used. Keeping it in play is the key here. Greens rolled true, fairways in great shape, traps are maintained, and there are challenges with forced carries over hazards. This course is a great value.
The one downside is that there is no way to walk this course. From green to the next tee can be upwards of a half mile in some cases, as this beautiful track winds through a large residential development. As the course is not packed, there is a chance that the only people you will see are your playing partners and the beverage cart.
Well worth the visit and I will be back!
Great course
Great course......fairways were immaculate...greens a touch slow and a bit bumpy but not unusual for this time of year......tee boxes were fine...I usually prefer to walk but do to the quirky layout its definitely a must ride course ....but I did like the quirky layout ....makes the course unique and because each hole is isolated I didn't hear a single "fore" ....looking forward to returning
Stepping it up
Overall a good course, and they have done nothing but improve since I started playing here.. I have played this course when the traps were all washed out, all the traps have good sand and some even have nice rock walls lining the shelves.. Tee boxes are currently moved and maintained, greens are rolling better with the air raid being done a few weeks ago .. Precision is key here as the course is not terribly long.. The short par 4's are made up for with a few 200 yd par 3's.. A great course for the money and I highly recommend the trip for anyone in the eastern pa/northwestern nj area.
This course has great views and elevation changes
Greens, tees, fairways and rough are nicely cared for. Holes are nicely bunkered and par threes are fair but challenging from 160 to 200 yards. Back nine has back to back par 5s and back to back par 3s. You need to know where to miss when approaching certain greens. If you miss wrong you will not find your ball or will not have a shot if you do find your ball. Also keep your ball below the hole. In some cases it is preferred to be off the green versus above the hole.
Mountain type terrain
This was one of the most picturesque courses I think I've ever played. The views from some of the elevated tees was outstanding. The course only recently opened after a very tough winter and was in decent shape for this time of year. Can't wait to comeback and play here when the grass gets a good start on growing.
Great Service
Had a 810 tee time. The gentleman let us tee off from 6 to put us in front of 4 foursomes.
This course has great views.
Not for walkers. Long, as in very long, distance between holes.
great mountain course
Fairway and green condition was great. This course is great mountain hilly course. In addition, driveway from NYC is so beautiful. You can enjoy driving to this course.
Fantastic course
This is by far the best course in the Poconos. Everything about the course is great - the clubhouse is the only thing I found below standard. We played in Nov. and the course was in great shape. The beauty of the course is hard to discribe - every hole was a Kodak moment ( that's why it took us 4 hours ) we had to stop and look out at the Beaty. I will make sure I play this course every time I'm in the Poconos. If you only play one course up here this should be the one. I've played all over the states and in many different countries and this course rates up in my top 3.
Beautiful views
The course played awesome. 9 miles of cart paths that takes
You thru the Pennsylvania mountains. Not a leaf on the fairway
or greens, someone spent a lot of time blowing the course clean.
Challenging course will defenditly will play again.

Nice course with a tour of community
We enjoy a very sunny and warm afternoon in the end of October playing with no one in front or behind almost the holes. The course was well maintained. The green is small and tricky. The course design is not good. It takes a long drive between holes most of holes. Some routes connecting the hole are in community route and cross busy streets. Good thing is that we tour around the whole community. However, it is the most dangerous route I ever drove on a golf cart.
Really liked the course. It rely played to my strengths of playing target golf.
This course require some attention but not to much, I really like the layout, elevation changes where great. If your a target golfer like I am. This is the course for you, I'll go back.
Great course
Course was in great shape. Bring a lot of balls if you are an average player. Plenty of woods on both sides.
challenging very scenic course
Country club of the poconos is a very scenic course with many elevation changes. One of my favorite courses in the Poconos. The view from the 16th tee is awesome! Need to take a cart because of long distance between some holes. A short course but very challenging.
Nice to play
Great fall colors now. You can enjoy golf and fall colors at this nice golf club.
lots of fun
much fun, challenging holes lots of elevation changes, very scenic, long rides between holes.
This course was very challenging
For an average weekend golfer this course dose not forgive any slice or hook on some of its narrow fairways and hitting over it's obstacle terain will cost you if your not spot on. But if you hit them stright and know how far their going to go you will have fun and a good round. But if your like me, my advice is bring plenty of F1 balls (found 1) and not your Prov 1's because the hazards will eat your balls. I will play the course again because it is challenging.
