Nice Course in the Poconos
Nice course for the money on Golfnow. Short but challenging course, making use of all clubs in my bag. Course set up nicely for me. Great vistas of the Pocono Mountains. Only complaint I had was no food, only snacks. Had low Blood sugar on #7 and had to go to clubhouse but not much to eat except snack food. Made out ok though and finished round. Hardly anyone on the course for a Monday.
cart is a must
Very challenging short course that we enjoyed greatly. The only problem was the long wait making the round over 5 hours. We were lucky we were paired up with another twosome whom had played here before because we would have gotten lost many times! A cart is required because of the crazy setup of the holes layout. It winds through a development that you have to pay strict attention to otherwise you'll end up on the wrong hole. None the less we enjoyed all of the quirkiness of the course - from the dog legs to the elevated greens it made for an interesting round.
A lot of driving
The course is not long, but has a lot od "character." There are side slopes I fairways, elevated tees and greens. Drivers are not always needed or advised.
Literally, you will drive the cart further between holes than any other place I ever played
I would like to play CCP again and play it smarter.
Fazio Folly
Long distances between holes and very slow play. Some pretty views, but difficult to determine proper club selections on on large elevation change holes.
Great mountain course
Played this course for the second time and all the holes came back to me as this is such a unique setup. No two holes are alike and they are all interesting. A good day's outing. Great views and challenging.
Short but challenging Course
Many elevated tees and carries over marshland. On a number of holes, I moved to the back tees just for the experience of playing the course at its best.
Small landing areas on many holes, this is not a course where you can just hit long then go find the ball.
As others have commented, a cart is a must - there are very long hikes between most holes. Also, no refreshment cart and the club house was closed midweek.
We found the pro shop staff to be casual and helpful.
CC or P
A couple of tee boxes were worn but the course was as beautiful as ever. It's always an enjoyable challenging day of golfing when I go there. A first timer who doesn't play much golf who came along also had a great day golfing.
Needs better management
Arrived at the course for noon t-time. Very few cars in the lot. No practice area except for small putting green. No cart attendant or starter. Course was spread out over miles of area. Cart paths meandered through woods and housing development. You can't walk this course. Some nice vistas. Some tricky holes with waste area to clear off the T. Biggest complaint was sprinklers operating on some holes with all T boxes getting
soaked. Had to T off from fairway. Couldn't avoid getting soaked by sprinklers on some holes. Grounds keeper wouldn't turn off so we could pass. Won't go back again.
Hidden gem in a mountainside community
Wonderful day spent with 2 members talking about the course. Fabulous views of surrounding area. The housing does not encroach on the playability.
Great Course, Great Group
Course was challenging. Staff was not overly friendly, did not feel like sticking around after finishing my round
Needing good mgmt
With better mgmt this could be a great place to play. As of now I'd be hard pressed to want to go back... Restaurant not open, no snack shop, no drink cart... Bring your own snacks and drinks
Like This Course
Like this course despite all the driving between holes. It is not long but it is difficult. The holes are always interesting. The course is well maintained. I think a shuffling of the order in which the holes are lined up might be possible. In this way maybe the driving could be reduced, but nevertheless, it is a nice course.
Great Condition
The course was in fantastic condition. Other than waiting for a few holes due to slow players, I absolutely enjoyed the round. Will play here again when I am in the Poconos.
nice
I would play this course every time I visit the poconos. Other than the distance between green to tee there is nothing to complain about.
Breaking 80
Nice course. Challenging. A lot of blind shots. The only problem is that holes are very far apart and it takes a while to get from hole to hole. My brother shot a 78, one if his best rounds ever.
spectacular views
If you want a course with a view... This is the place for you. You will not believe the elevated tee boxes ( especially from the tips - even if u don't.. Walk up to take a look ). Course conditions are much better since the town decided to put some money into it. Its a tough course if you are not a straight hitter - some tight fairways and if you send it into the trees...consider it a donation. The first time we played there my playing partner lost 13 balls. There usually isn't any rangers to be found and if you get a slow group in front of you...pack a lunch. That being said, I keep going back when I'm in the area and so should you
If you are looking for beautiful vistas.....
This course is very challenging with beautiful views.
There is a long distance from greens to the next tee box which keeps the game moving.
Pace of play here aged me a year
Took us just about 3 hrs to do 9 holes so we left. Went inside to see if we could get a voucher and come back another time but they said that pace is normal and a 5 1/2 hr round is very normal. Unless you really want to kill a day, I would not suggest this place to my worst enemy.
Slow Play
Some previous player said the course was empty and they saw no player whole day. It is both right and wrong depends on which week day you play. CC Pocono has a crazy price and you pay $50 on every week day except Tuesday so people paid $50 on Mon, Wed, Thu or Fri and see no other players other than cart girl but if you paid $25 on Tuesday you'll see many players and 10+ miles long cart path and slow foursome (it will happened sooner or later when many player on course) will results in 5.5 hours day. It is an excellent course but if you can't spend time (5~6 hours) then pay double and do not play on Tuesday.
