Hole #2 or #3, not sure! Photo submitted by tgmassey on 10/15/2012
hilly but friendly
played early in the year April 10th on a beautiful day. Only 4 cars in the parking lot. Only til the 15th hole did we see another player. Greens were just aerated and it made the putts bumpy/ Other than that the course played well. Lots of hills and doglegs. Played it many times and will play it many more even though i am an hour and fifteen minutes away
hiden gem a must play
Its a terriffic course with lots of fun holes. Greens were in great shape and not many leaves either. Only down side is the length of the ride bewteen holes.
Worth your time....
I regularly write reviews on another site for courses that I play and I'm glad to see Golfnow also offers this service. I traveled from Binghamton NY to play CC of the Poconos on 11/15/12 with my cousin Bob. It was right around 50 degrees with little wind and lots of sun. The course was deserted, with only 1 other foursome out there. We got the "hot rate" on the course ($14!), and it was well worth the drive. We were greeted by a friendly gent in the pro shop, who got us set up with a cart and scorecard and some good course advice. This course winds through a high end housing development and there are some LONG commutes between holes which take you out onto the streets and through parking lots. Pay attention to the painted arrows on the ground and abundant signage and you'll never be lost. I'd read some mixed reviews on the course and wasn't entirely sure what to expect. Many of them cite the distance between holes as a factor in their complaints. I think it's helpful in that it gives you time to reminisce on the good shots and forget the bad ones. The course is HILLY and you'll find dramatic elevation changes on many holes. This is one of those rare courses where EVERY hole seems memorable. As such, its found a place in my new top 5 PA courses. The course conditions were great for the time of year. Some of the fairway traps had a little wash out, but given the recent hurricane, its to be expected. The turf was in great shape and dense. The greens were immaculate. Positioning is key on this course and there are plenty of places to lose a ball. Club selection can be difficult in places when the wind and elevation are competing factors. The carts were gas powered and well maintained, if a little anemic. I guess that's also understandable as they have to gear them down with all the potential for wrecks on the sloping and steep paths. They also lack g.p.s., which is a little disappointing (bring yours). The views are breathtaking and deserving of a camera. In summary, do yourself the favor of playing this course.
This course is amazing & great fun to play again.
course condition is well maintained, challenging, very friendly staffs and definately will play again.
Fun, Challenging holes
Enjoyed the course. There are some elevated tees and intersting par 3's. There some long rides to the next tee but they are nice rides through the woods. The lady in charge comes across as not so friendly but i think she means well.
An Awesome Mountain Course
CC of the Poconos is a beautiful, challenging mountain course. There are many forced carries, several optical illusions, and many holes that require a safe shot instead of going for glory. However, the course is very fair, as mountain courses go. Compared to a course like Split Rock, it is very playable. The course winds through a friendly neighborhood where residents wave to you. More importantly, the conditions are pristine. It was the most fun my wife and I have had on a golf course this year. It's a true mountain course, so bring plenty of balls, and don't forget to enjoy the awesome views!
Best Course in the Poconos!
This course was in the best shape of any course I have played in the Tri-State Area! Better than some Myrtle Beach Course as well!
The fairways are narrow, but every hole is more stunning than the previous hole! It's a Must Play for all!
