Hidden Gem????? Not right now
This wonderful little course is in horrid condition. Every Tee is Temporary. On Side hills down hill Whatever!!!! Every Green sand or flat out disgraceful.....ALL of Them
I played this course a hundred times in the 80's when often it was the best condition wise of all city courses sad to be this disturbed..........it's a fun course but with every tee and green in disrepair??????????????
looking good
Try to at least play here once or twice a year and I've got to admit the course never looked better to me. Stood on some of the tees on the par 3's and just marveled how good the hole looked. No weeds in the traps, aprons cut and greens looking receptive. This is one of the best courses I have played that has 10 par 3's (none are flip wedges) no par 5's and shorter but really fun par 4's.Almost would say best executive course in the Delaware Valley. The one thing that has not changed is lack of grass on the tees which is understandable due to all the par 3"s and even most of the par 4 's demand an iron off the tee themselves due to a need for accuracy not length. Maybe one day they will be able to have plush tees, someone will have to notify management when grass is finally made legal.
Nice Golf Course
Hidden gem in the city. I brought my daughter over to play last week and we had a blast. Challenging holes and the course was in excellent shape. I will be back soon.
Local Philly Course w/ Solid Layout
Course is surrounded by Roxborough and abuts into Fairmont Park. Gets a A LOT of play. Layout is great for a city course. Rough is kept long and fairways are a bit hairy to compensate for all the golfers that play this course. Greens are okay. I play this course about 3x per year since it is very convenient, and, again, a good layout. I like the back 9 more than the front 9.
