Northampton Valley Country Club
About
Northampton Valley Country Club, proudly owned by Northampton Township, the golf course first opened in 1963. It is well known among locals as one of the Greater Philadelphia area's best courses. The layout has a classic design with tree-lined fairways and gently sloped greens. Several strategically placed bunkers lurk along the greens and there are a few water hazards that come into play as well. The par-70 golf course is a manageable 6,400 yards from the back tees. It's a traditional design that is player friendly enough for all skill levels but there are risk-reward opportunities that will appeal to low handicappers. In addition to the golf course, Northampton Valley has a driving range with new range balls which is open to the public and a 10,000 sq. ft. practice green with a pristine sand trap for patrons to work on their short game.

Great Course, Staff mostly good
I’ve really enjoyed playing Northampton. Nice layout and is in great condition. My only complaint was that I played a very early morning round, and half the pins were not in the hole. The two staff members responsible for cutting a new hole didn’t seem to be in a hurry, so I had to drive to the green to place the pin in the hole. Other than that, it was a great experience.
Good round of golf
Even though the course is more expensive than the others in the area, it was worth the price difference due to pace of play. We (3 of us) were able to complete our round in 4 hours whereas other local courses typically run between 5 and 6 hours on the weekends.
The course was in good shape and we had an enjoyable time. My only complaint is that the beverage cart didn’t accept credit cards.
Sub-par value; not junior friendly
Played as part of a group with two back-to-back tee times on a Saturday morning. My 7 year old son came with as part of the first group, and the pro shop asked what he was doing and I said he was going to ride along and drop a ball on the green and putt it in with the other two in our group. When we got to the starter, he was condescending and told me my son couldn't play and warned me that he could take the key out of the cart or drive it away as if I don't know what I'm doing. I have taken my son out at least a dozen times over the last year, and this was the most insulting starter I've encountered in a while.
The course was in sub-par shape. It has been wet recently, but there was standing water in multiple spots on almost every hole and it hadn't rained for 18 hours prior telling me drainage was poor. Other local courses do not have this problem. Fairways and greens were average. Fairway bunkers were poor (missing sand, overgrown weeds, not replaced or sodded). Tee boxes were OK. It was a crowded day and the pace of play was OK. Range is poor. This place was bought by the township several years ago and it was my first time playing it since privately owned, and not much has changed.
We left after 12 holes as my son was upset as they were persistent he couldn't play citing that we would hold up play. My group ended up finishing the round in 4hrs 10mins. so take what you want from that, and there was no backup on course.
Within a 30 minute drive there are better courses for the same money and do not have an issue with a 7 year old junior tagging along and playing around the greens.
In great shape and improving
Most greenside bunker renovations have been completed and look good. Fairway ones due are up next. Fairways were great
Aeration on greens and fairways
Wait to play.. middle of renovations in bunkers greens and fairways
First round of the year. Course under repair
Very early in the season. The greens were not pretty. I understand they will be aerated soon which is a good thing because they need it. Also, the bunkers were all under repair, big project. Other than that I always like the layout of this course. It is challenging to put up a good score.
I think the course will be fine in a few weeks.
