Northampton Valley Country Club
About
Northampton Valley Country Club, proudly owned by Northampton Township, the golf course first opened in 1963. It is well known among locals as one of the Greater Philadelphia area's best courses. The layout has a classic design with tree-lined fairways and gently sloped greens. Several strategically placed bunkers lurk along the greens and there are a few water hazards that come into play as well. The par-70 golf course is a manageable 6,400 yards from the back tees. It's a traditional design that is player friendly enough for all skill levels but there are risk-reward opportunities that will appeal to low handicappers. In addition to the golf course, Northampton Valley has a driving range with new range balls which is open to the public and a 10,000 sq. ft. practice green with a pristine sand trap for patrons to work on their short game.

I messed up one friend's tee time and the staff accommodated me even on a busy course day. . Very cool people.
Since the Township took over a few years back...
...the golf course has been going downhill fast!
Mostly no sand in the bunkers and they are covered with weeds and rocks, very little sand. Rough areas surrounding the greens are pacthy at best with a lot of soil and not grass. Some areas it looks like they harvested grass and then left it bare without adding new soil and seed to fill in.
The greens were ok but many greens have shown signs of big diseased areas that also had moved into the fringe.
Over all this course is no where near paying the high rates ($64 weekday, $72 weekend) that are charging. I got a discount hot deal and decided to try it again hoping the course was getting better, but it was worse, way worse! Too many other courses that are MUCH better in the area are cheaper to play.
It appears the township does not want to get this course back to where it was by spending money and are letting it fall apart year by year.
Stay away unless you like your wedges getting abused by hitting off of rocks in the bunkers, putting through diseased dead areas on the greens and driving on cart paths that are falling apart with potholes and ditches which were flat out dangerous to navigate!
Shocking play
Lightning cut this game short.probably the greatest game of my life! We had to stop because of thunder and lightning incoming. No big deal, I’ve cheated death a few times this round can be a do over.
The course was in good condition, no real backup with rain and lightning in the forecast. Always enjoyed northampton I’ll be back again.
Condition
Need lots of sand in the traps.
They are barebone to the ground.
No drinking water available
No ball cleaners at the tees
Good track
Good local track. Bunkers need some real sand in them and guests need to fix divots. Greens rolling pretty good and would play again. Great, friendly staff, and would definitely play again. They are making improvements on course and would definitely play again.
Best condition ever.
I have played there over several years this is the best the course had been.
Pace of play
They had two fivesomes in front of us and said it was ok because they r members. I had to cancel a tee time due to a friend having the virus and they didn’t give me a full credit and gave only a partial. They want us to follow there policies but not enforce proper golf Etiquette with no fivesomes.
Good stuff
Overall I love this course, wish it was a little cheaper so I could play it more. Really like the layout of the holes and character of the course. There were 2 greens that needed a little love.
