Northampton Valley Country Club
About
Northampton Valley Country Club, proudly owned by Northampton Township, the golf course first opened in 1963. It is well known among locals as one of the Greater Philadelphia area's best courses. The layout has a classic design with tree-lined fairways and gently sloped greens. Several strategically placed bunkers lurk along the greens and there are a few water hazards that come into play as well. The par-70 golf course is a manageable 6,400 yards from the back tees. It's a traditional design that is player friendly enough for all skill levels but there are risk-reward opportunities that will appeal to low handicappers. In addition to the golf course, Northampton Valley has a driving range with new range balls which is open to the public and a 10,000 sq. ft. practice green with a pristine sand trap for patrons to work on their short game.

Nice course, Absolutely Abysmal Time of Play
Nice course, variety of easy and not so easy holes. Conditions are generally good, greens roll fairly true but slowish. The pace of play is absolutely the worst thing, I've played this course more than a few times and even when I go prepared for a slow round I'm usually forcing myself to finish 18 watching the local members kick it around, wander aimlessly, chat and do everything but playing ready golf and holing out. Most likely due to an extremely large senior membership base that has retains the idea that "they paid their money, and they're going to take their time". Rangers are nonexistent". Expensive for the experience you'll have. Poor range facilities (matts are destroyed and machine isn't reliably operable. small putting green not conveniently located). Even time I play here I promise to myself it'll be the last, but it's so close I feel the need to give it a go. and regret it.
nice course
Nice course Greens were excellent Pace of play was slow Some how got behind a forsome on the back that didn't start on the front
Nice course. Horrible pace of play.
Course in good condition. They need to space out tee times more. Waited on every hole until hole 13. Round took well over 5 hrs.
Step it up
Only concern is the ranger is constantly rushing you which can be very distracting to your game. If there's no one in front of you and no one pressing you, I don't see the reason for it. Other than that, nice course and the best hot dogs you will ever eat!
July 18 2014 review
Course is in very good condition. Our 4-some played 18 in 3:45 on a Friday afternoon. Course isn't long, but has some very nice, challenging holes. Will be back!
Slow, slow, slow
I've played this course many times over the years and the one constant of each round is that the pace of play is so very slow. They are always overbooked, and few are the rounds that there is not a 4-some on the tee, another in the fairway, and yet another on the green for the entire round. I've had rounds that I walked off the course after 15-16 holes because we were 5+ hours into the round.
If they lowered the price it would still not be better, but they seem to increase the rate each year without any noticeable improvements on the course. My money and time is best spent elsewhere.
Overcrowded
Course in good shape but way overbooked no spacing between tee times way overcrowded 5 1/2 hrs during a weekday way too long
Great Condition-Slow Pace of Play
Course is in great shape. Hats off to the superintendent. Should have rangers to improve pace of play. Rates are competitive for the area.
Excellent Course
NHVCC is an excellent course and is always kept in great condition.
Nice and long.
Great course in awesome shape.
Very long round. Started at 850 and ended at 130. Smooth through the first 9 and them the wait started every hole after 11
Never a bad round so far
I've played this course 3 times and have never walked away with a bad experience. Course was in great shape, pace of play was not an issue (we were first out). Greens were true and slick.
pace of play
coarse in good shape but pace of play terrible 0ver 5 hours
Great start turned for the worse.
Booked the first tee time at the course as a hot-deal allowing a couple of my friends to join me before work. We tee'd off just after 6am with the course completely open. Playing as a foursome at a comfortable pace we drove up the fairway of #9 roughly 15min before our "on pace" turn time. As we hit our approach shots to the 9th green a foursome pulls up to the 10th tee, as we put out another group pulls up to the 10th tee. Now we are waiting for 2 groups to play in front of us. As we walk in to the pro shop to find out why this is happening another group tries to pull up to the 10th tee but we were able to get our carts in the line first. We were told they had someone on there way out to organize things. On my second trip into the pro shop to find out what was going to happen I hear the owner (G*ry) say to his employee, "well they only paid $25 for the round." Mind you the normal rate from 6am-7am is $35 so we saved $10. We were given the option of going to the 15th hole and then coming back to 10 after 18, but we decided against this as I did not know what to expect upon returning to the 10th tee. So after a one hour fifty minute front nine we waited twenty minutes on the 10th tee and played the back in two and a half hours, almost forcing my one friend to leave the round early to get to work. So much for getting up early and booking the first time at the course to try and play at a pace we all feel comfortable. The thing that really gets me is that this is in my opinion one of the nicest semi public courses in the area and I would like to play it much more then I do. I have trouble getting my friends to go unless they are crunched for time and have to play local. Besides these events the course was in great shape. The greens are looking the nicest I have seen them in a while and I was a member here for 5 years. Hope to see some improvements in the overbooking and this place would be a real gem.
Long wait times
the course is very nice, and well maintained. The only problem is overbooking of the course. We were not told there was an event and that conditions were going to be slow. Our tee time was 2:20 we did not finish until 7:45. Don't let me my beginner status allow any doubt in my review. I have played on several other courses and this wait time was awful.
Beautiful Course
Course was in great shape, and the layout is challenging but very playable for experienced golfers! Love playing this course, and got it for $25 on GOLFNOW!
Really Nice Course
First time playing here and it was beautiful. My brothers and I could not have asked for a better day to play over the weekend. Greens and fairways were very well taken care of and was a challenging course to boot. Would play here again for sure.
Good good good
The course is in great shape the greens are rolling real nice all in all its a great place to play..
Early Morning Round
I got the great Golf Now deal for a 6am tee time. It rained a little during the night, so the grass was damp and greens were soft. The course was in great condition and after being waved through the group ahead of me, I had the whole course to myself. The standard rates are a little pricey, but this is one of the best kept courses in the area.
Not bad for the price we paid
Course was in nice shape, greens were fast and nice, my only complaint was there wasn't anything to eat or drink, we tee'd off at 7am when we made the turn around 9 I should be able to grab a drink or snack , so overall I'd give it a score of about 75/100
Tougher than you think
Seems straight forward but not much room on fairways and greens are tough to read. Looking forward to playing again.
