Perfect day for a great round!
Pace of play was perfect, tee boxes were really hard, fairways in great shape.
Decent course, terrible greens
For 20 bucks at 10am on Wednesday it was not a bad round. I feel like I got what I paid for. I would have been disappointed had I paid more. The fairways and rough were well cut and OB well marked. Some bunkers need some work but I stayed out of them today. I gave myself relief on an old green side bunker on 17 that was not marked but filled with rocky clay and appeared to be regrowing.
The course really left a lot to be desired on the greens. Very patchy and vary in length. Some holes were dead and short cut, and others were very long, slow greens. Many areas of no grass or active regrowth, even around some pins. Be prepared to hit 40+ putts here leaving some short and some 10 feet long.
All in all it wasn’t a bad round but I wouldn’t drive an hour back.
One slow foursome that slowed the pace but it wasn’t awful. 2.25 hr round.
Dry
The course was very dry for this time of year. A lot of the greens we burnt. Pace of play was better then excellent, did not wait one time to hit a shot.
PV
One cart per person. Ran out of carts so we walked front nine. Had more carts so we could ride back nine.
Greens in horrible shape.
It was like putting on a shag carpet. This was my first time playing here. So I don’t know if it’s always like this. Ruff was super thick also. You’ll pay the price for missing the fairway.
So so course
First of March so can’t expect great conditions. Played this course several times and it is a good course. $25 all day, can’t beat it.
Good family owned course
Like playing this course for the price on golf now. Course was not to bad compared to couple weeks ago. Greens were buckled on outside were it was dry. But they took time to fix that issue. Overall a great time.
Worth the Ride
Other than the tee boxes being a little sparse or uneven, the fairways were in very good shape and the greens were consistent!!
Would play again
Considering it is a ride and play course for $49 at prime tee times, I can't complain. Staff is super friendly, the views are great, some serious rains this year left some of the greens with bare wet spots around the edges. But the tee boxes and fairways are well maintained. Not alot of sand or obstacles so it was nice easy play for the average golfer.
My experience at Pleasant valley golf course
I always enjoy playing Pleasant valley. The fairways were in good condition considering how late into the year we are. The staff members deliver a high level of friendly and professional customer service.
Question on slope rating
According to the scorecard, the slope rating gets down into the low 100's. This is very inaccurate. The course is quite hilly and probably should carry ratings in the 120's if not around 130.
The Delaware beach courses, which are flat as a pancake carry ratings in the teens so you know Pleasant Valley in Pa has to be higher than that by a good margin.
