old style charm
my foursome likes this course, and it is a regular in our rotation. a good variation in holes and greens. has some wet areas, but very little paved cart paths, so no cart path only is possible. brand new restaurant and bar. also, the club house was being remodeled whilst we were there.
Great potential...
Course is under new management. I'm predicting this course will be the go to course in the future in York County. With some TLC it will be top notch.
Improving
This course I was told is being sold, and seem to me, it has improved since the last time I played it. Still has a way to go but seems heading in the right direction.
Great time at Grandview
Grandview is a great inexpensive way to enjoy playing golf. Greens are fantastic, rest of course is not the best, but still a great way to enjoy the game. I wish the carts were in a little better condition, but gets the job done.
Mixed Review
Grandview is a difficult to rate. The greens are top rate, albeit postage stamp size in many cases. The roll was mostly true and speed on the fast side, especially if you were above the hole.
Unfortunately the fairways did not exist, with little to no grass and rock hard. Often this gave 50 yards, or more, of carry/roll then you were expecting. How can you judge distances that way with mid irons or longer? The greens were so small that landing on them with long irons was very difficult to stay on the green for most amateurs.
The tee shots were tight at times but mostly fair. The sand traps were extremely odd being very long and very narrow as well as being deep. I did not have to play out of the traps.
Figuring out distances and were to play your next shot was a challenge, with very limited and/or hard to find yardage markers. On one hole, we had difficult times figuring out where the white tees were as they were split and hidden from the blue tees and around the corner from the red/gold tees. With fairways nonexistent for all practical purposes, where to play shots was not obvious at all.
The back nine have 3 each of par 3's, 4's, and 5's making it strange.
There is no drinking water on the course, so bring, or buy, your own. Pace of play was average.
Great Greens
Greens were practically flawless. Fairways a bit dry due to the lack of rain. Tee boxes in fair condition. Interesting layout with a stretch of 4 holes where 3 are Par 3s.
Another beautiful day
Another nice day, had a great time. Just wish there wear yardage markers.
Nice day to play
Had a nice day, for not being crowded pace of play was slow. I now fairways at a small course. There where none! The pair in front of me were real slow. Do you think they would let me play through yes hole #11(WOW)
No Fairways!!
Course has no fairways. So you just kinda hit where you think you should. Ok course to work on clubs but that's about it.
not in good shape
the greens were OK. the fairways were not. most holes you couldn't see the outline of the fairway. There were no Yardage markers anywhere to be found. It was a big guessing game. Will not return.
The greens were fast and difficult to read
The course was in top condition due to a top tournament the following weekend.
Back nine is a little unusual!
Back to back par 3's followed by a really long par five makes for a weird start on the back nine. Three par 3 three par 5 and 3 par 4's I would consider an unusual lay out but we had a lot of fun and played 18 in 3 1/2 hours. I will play again !!!
Was closed
Unfortunately when I got to the course it was closed. The tee time should not have been posted. Of course it was Christmas. Day - that being said looking back I should have called first. I still am glad that Last Minute golfer tee times and rates that are offered is a tremendous value and savings. Especially for people like me that enjoy the game and are on fixed income. Thanks Joe Carlson
Worst golf course in all of central PA area
flat unimaginative holes, too firm, managed by a could care less staff. didn't honor bonus buy coupon, with their name on it.
Old style and a great value
Grandview is one of my favorite courses. It's traditional with wide fairways and lots of mature trees. Even though the course needs maintenance, overall the greens roll well and the Golf Now hot deals rates are outstanding. It's a fun course at a low price.
Grandview ain't so Grand
Grandview has been around a long time and its Really starting to show its age... owners have done nothing to the course in years but mow grass... Overgrown trees nearly block out tee shots on a number of holes... tee boxes are terrible condition... thankfully its been a fairly wet summer so there is some green in the very thin fairways... greens are in good shape... its been 4 or 5 years since I last played this goattrack and I won't be back to try it again unfortunately until they get this course back in playing shape... also the place is a shooting gallery, balls flying everywere... took one off the hand standing on the 15th green because the hacker that hit it into us never even hollered a FOUR at us... Ridiculous
Good challenging course
This course can challenge you on some of its longer par 4 and par 5 holes. There are a few holes with blind shots off the tee. Once through these, I would like to play again with a different tactic.(Hole 6 was interesting) Greens were in good shape. We had a great time.
Great value
Cannot beat $27 for 18 with a cart. Open fairways and forgiving greens. Great for newer players.
just ok
There were no water stations at any of the holes, and this was on a very hot day. .they were also understaffed
Greens are the only good thing
this course is quite possibly the worst course in York county. Tee boxes are horrendous. The fairways are like rocks. Carts are old gas powered carts an all beat up. Overall rough course. The only good thing is the greens somehow they manage to stay nice. Also if your just looking to get out an play an you don't care about score an can get the $10 golf now rate this is the course for you. Had to play the back 9 twice because the front nine was rained out. It rained Saturday. An we haven't had much rain this year.
