Great course. Sand in bunkers were hard and crusty. Hard to hit a bunker shot. Bladed two shots over green because sand wedge bounced off hard sand. But overall great course.
Great Hot Deal Course
I’ve lived in the providence area since birth and never knew this course was here. The size of it had me shocked. It’s a great challenging course for beginner to intermediate players. We got a great hot deal for 18 and a cart through Golfnow. The course was very busy upon arrival(Looked like some camps/leagues/tourneys)so the first 9 holes took a while but by the time we were at the 10th there was no one behind us nor in front for another 2 holes. There were a couple of back 9 fairways that were in rough shape but nonetheless still a great course with greens in pristine shape . I’m a golfer always looking for deals so I probably would not come to this course for full price for the 18 and a cart. But it was still a nice and fun course to play at!
Donald Ross Gem
This Donald Ross design is one thing especially as I have played there in the past and knew what to expect...only the conditions I thought would be a surprise...but I was wrong...the best surprise was the outstandingly courteous and caring staff...they wanted the best experience possible and despite issues with the players in my group who were a bit challenged to say the least...everything turned out great in the end despite having to partially fund one of the guys in our foursome because there was" mis-communication" with his friend over reservations. The staff was awesome in smoothing over everything...thank you all...you guys are great! Hope I get the chance to come back as I really like Triggs for surprising me with kindness.
Fathers Day treat
It was my first time playing Triggs but it was a pleasant surprise. The course was in great shape with a wonderful layout. If you’ve never played here it can be a little tricky on certain holes because the scorecard has zero description of layout. Luckily we were paired up with regulars to make the round a little more enjoyable. I’d give it a 5 star if they lady in the pro shop wasn’t overwhelmed and a bit rude as well as the ranger removing the flag on 18 as I was about to hit my approach shot. If you can get a hot deal for this course under $40,it’s well worth the money.
Triggs
The course was in fair condition..the fairways were spotty with a thick rough, putting a emphasis on location. The greens have a beautiful shape and are protected by well placed bunkers.Paying only 38 dollars on the weekend was a fair deal. The back nine is better than the front nine and brand new golf carts were nice...overall I give 3 to 4 stars for the course
Nice course
Overall very nice course; the greens were aerated which we were not aware of. It is a challenging course and I enjoyed playing.
Wet & Soggy
With all the rain and cloudy weather this spring it's a wonder the course was in as good a condition as it was. We only got in 13 holes. It rained as usual. The greens and the fairways were good.
Decent course, terrible service.
Great course, generally enjoy playing here but the club house staff make it real easy to decide to play elsewhere. Usually the club house staff is mediocre at best but during my last round the guy working the front desk had such a bad attitude. I almost felt as if he didn’t want me to play there? Definitely didn’t feel welcomed.
Nope
Never will play here again. Terrible ranger. Terrible clubhouse staff. They're rude. Don't play here. They will not accommodate anyone. Good luck playing a round under five hours.
Spend some money!
The course is overpriced for the amenities provided. If you have never played there, you will surely get turned around several times as tee boxes are not marked. Parking lot and cart paths will tax your vehicle and cart. Clubhouse is outdated. Fine for a discounted round, but expect to spend well over 5 hours out on the course, as pace of play is slow and holes are backed up often.
Fantastic Course
So second time playing (1st time just back 9) ok so this course was in great shape, both challenging and fun will try and get another 4-5 rounds here this season
Not nice
I was visiting my Sister in the RI Hospital and thought i play golf after our visit at this place because it was close to the hospital instead of driving an hour and going to dinner late, Bad idea and we had no indication that a am tournament and pm tournament was going on we tee off late no big deal really until we found out the tourney was every ones ball just Bad who does that? no carts at first but we got one, the round took 5 hrs and 40 min and golf now had no idea. I was watching people spray shots everywhere 2 groups & more in front of my wife and i, it should have been scramble, come on golf course what the wrong? What are you thinking? My wife and i headed home and sat to dinner at 9:15 our tee time was 2:00 pm.
Some other than me needs a head exam.
Bad , Bad , Bad, Just money hungry people that's all i have to stay.

Classic Donald Ross
Spectacular layout...true test of golf tee to green. A gem hidden in the hills of Providence. The greens were immaculate and fairways were in great shape...that's the key to playing this course...stay in the fairways!!...The rough is punitive. Overall, a great and fair test of golf.
Jewel of Providence
A Donald Ross true original, restored by current Leasee to original blue prints, this is a must play for the true golfer. Extremely playable where length is rewarded, but don't go over the greens. Better to play as Ross intended, with a bump and run for an approach. Well priced, great conditions, and an historical course played by the likes of Ben Hogan and Gene Serazen.
late tee time
was told we had to wait 1/2 hour to tee off because the tournament that went off at 8:15am went off late...our tee time was almost 5 hours later - I can't believe that all the subsequent tee times went off late because of that... no apologies, no discount for waiting. I won't rush back.
Why would you wait around 5 hours to tee off? Something doesn't seem right with this review.
Hard to understand why this reviewer saw poor fairways. They're green and watered and perfect. Go off the fairway and its a different story. Maybe that is what they meant.
