Twelve Stones Golf Club
About
Twelve Stones Golf Club (formerly known as Twelve Stones Crossing) sprawls across rolling hills, making the golf course known for its dramatic elevation changes. An even lie will be hard to find and golfers will also have a few blind shots in store for them. The undulating terrain makes for some difficult holes but it serves another, more player-friendly purpose of providing scenic respite with idyllic views of the surrounding countryside. The greens are lightning fast, but they roll true and there is rough bordering the well-manicured fairways. There are also several bunkers strategically placed throughout. It is a golf course that is challenging but still fun to play, a statement that holds true for a wide range of skill levels. Given the versatile design and affordable rates, Twelve Stones Golf Club is a popular venue for tournaments and outings.

The greens are HORRIBLE
I have been going to play at this course for years and I have never been this upset with my experience there. They decided to change their greens this year and I understand that it is still a work in progress, but 70 dollars to put on greens where your golf ball bounces around all over the place is absolutely absurd. This place wants to be a country club so bad.
If you like grass......
If you like grass on the tee box, grass on the greens....keep looking. I like the course design but tee boxes at every distance are mainly sand so the stance is difficult as well. They need serious help with this.
We appreciate your feedback regarding the conditions of our tee boxes and greens. We apologize for any difficulties you experienced with your stance during your visit. Thank you for sharing your thoughts with us.
Good, Expensive
It’s a good course. We live near by and would play it more, if it were more reasonable. They did a lot of work to the course over the winter. There is still a lot to be done to justify the greens fees. Tee boxes are in rough shape, and not level. Greens were ok, with the exception of a few that had massive bare spots. Bunkers were pretty good, and same for the fairways. All in all, it’s a good course that is way over priced.
Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. We appreciate your feedback and apologize if the price of our golf course does not meet your expectations. We will take your comments about the condition of the tee boxes and greens into consideration as we continue to improve our course.
Challenging but beautiful.
I didn’t even know this course existed until golf now recommended it. I will be going back, we had so much fun despite losing many balls into the woods and creeks. For late summer I thought the conditions were great. Beautiful views on several holes. Highly recommend a cart as it is very spread out.
Cart-astrophe
My experience at Twelve Stone GC was miserable & disgusting with regards to their highly restricted GPS golf carts along with, a manager Kurt's bad attitude towards customers. He knows (or should know) this cart set up increases walking 3 fold, creates losing more golf balls (even ones that are in-play) and totally distracts you (and slows play) due to the constant need to watch the screen for restricted or, the cart freezing up ?
Whoever programmed these carts to suddenly freeze up and quit when you're unknowingly in their so-called 'restricted areas' (incl. middle of the fairway?) is out of touch.
I assume he took offense when we spoke during a call and I said ' it would be smart to dial this down a lot' because I received a long berating and then, he hung up on me. That kind of behavior towards customers is proof positive that he's aware he screwed up and, doesn't know what to do other than run and hide.
We apologize for the negative experience you had at Twelve Stone GC. We appreciate your feedback and will take your concerns about the restricted GPS golf carts and the behavior of our manager Kurt into consideration. Thank you for bringing this to our attention.
Overall the course was in good shape.
The course is in pretty good shape, although there were several greens that were a little bit thin and rough. It's a challenging course with several blind tee shots that you have to be aware of, but fun to play. I was expecting the greens to be nicer, especially with them being closed all summer and all of the promoting of the new greens when they reopened. Overall it's a fun, challenging course and for $34 it was more than worth it.
Needs to be played a few time to be fun
Since in from Flat Land Florida, the slopes and hills were challenging to maneuver. Course has a nice layout and makes you think about which clubs to hit. Some tee boxes were dead grass and rock hard to set a tee in the ground, and some greens were bumpy. Otherwise, fairways, the OTHER tee boxes, and greens were in nice shape. Would play here again!
Course needs grooming
The course was not in the condition it has been in the past. Several tee boxes are in very poor condition. The fairways were okay but they have been much better in past play last year. Marshall was very friendly and ensured our pace of play was acceptable. It was slow as we caught up with a slower group on hole 7. That group let us play through on hole 10, and we were free sailing until 17. I don't think I would recommend play at Twelve Stones in its current condition and I'll look elsewhere for the duration of my stay through Oct 5.
Greens and Tee Boxes still need work
Greens and tee boxes in poor shape still. Green #1 was chewed up on the right side. Some tee boxes were just dirt. Embarrassing because this could be a really nice course.
We apologize for the poor condition of the greens and tee boxes during your visit. We're sorry that this affected your experience, and we appreciate your feedback. Thank you for bringing this to our attention.
Work In Progress
This remains one of my favorite courses in Middle TN. I love the layout, the hills and serpentine holes.
Overall, the course is in pretty good shape, but the greens which were redone over the summer are a bit rough right now. I'm not sure if it's the lack of rain or the newness of the turf, but they are hairy and bumpy making any putt over 4 feet a challenge.
Need to put the focus back on the player
Post closer and revamping of this course they seem to have become very stuck up. I’ve played this course for months and never had issues. But since they have reopened I have had multiple moments with staff that have made me not want to come back. The prices have doubled and the course has had very little change. All together they need to step up customer service and maintenance. The prices they have for their course are not worth it at all and I choose to play at other courses.
We apologize for any negative experiences you have had since our course reopened. We appreciate your feedback and will take it into consideration as we work to improve our customer service and maintenance. Thank you for sharing your thoughts with us.
Fun course that is getting better and better !
Played this course today and after seeing some low reviews I am pleased with what I experienced at this course. This is a fun layout and the course is coming into shape. Will play this one again
Nice but .........
Course conditions on several tee boxes & greens was pretty rough. Could be a great place if they up the maintenance game.
Thank you for taking the time to provide your feedback. We apologize for any dissatisfaction you experienced with the course conditions. We appreciate your input and will take it into consideration to improve our maintenance standards.
