Twelve Stones Golf Club

Twelve Stones is coming around nicely. Tee boxes and fairways are in good shape, greens are quick and rolling pretty true. Down hollers are very fast and will roll out if missed.

$80+ fees with these conditions should be criminally punishable. Legalized theft. Agree with other reviews, multiple fairways “damaged by sledders during the freeze” and are literally void of grass. Understand that’s unavoidable by the course, but rates should reflect course conditions. If you value your money, play elsewhere.

Not to mention, one of the rudest staff members in the clubhouse I’ve ever encountered. Want to overpay and feel like you’re a burden to the staff? Wait no longer, book your tee time today! (Sarcasm - don’t play here.)

The green conditions were horrid but I was told they recently replaced them. The routing is questionable and some of the hole designs will make you scratch your head. I did not enjoy playing his course. And at the course rate ($) … for the overall conditions, pace of play, and course amenities … I would not recommend 12 Stones to any of my friends.

Twelve Stones is a much improved but very challenging golf course. The owners are currently in the process of improving the course as well. The course is very challenging with the hills, creeks, and tricky greens but is far and away the best course in Sumner County, TN and one of the best semi-private courses in the Metro Nashville area.

The location in the Tennessee hills with its elevation changes could have made for a great course, but the course conditions were terrible. Many hole with large dirt patches and an uphill par 4 that was almost completely dirt. Greens had some no grass spots that were painted green. Heard they started a reno last year so hopefully it grows in thru the summer, but cannot recommend at this time.

Fun course. Good layout. Visiting from out of state and would play it again in a heart beat!

Tough, risk reward golf course. If it is your 1st time playing, pay close attention to the GPS in your cart or on your smart watch. There are a few holes where you cannot see the landing area and there is hidden water or out of bounds if you hit the ball too far. Really great course, once you get to know it.

Had been wanting to get out to 12 Stones, but can't say I'm rushing to get back especially for $88. I see the price for next week is significantly cheaper, so maybe they do dynamic pricing? Regardless, their 5th hole is worst golf hole I've ever seen. It's 300 yards straight up a hill to the point where you can hit driver near the top of the hill and it will roll back down to 100 yards out. I can't believe the hole exists. Some other weird holes out there, but a nice piece of property. Conditions were pretty rough. I can generally look past that, but not for $88. Would be a cool course if they did something with hole 5 and got it in decent shape. Also one of the least walkable courses I've ever seen

Was a beautiful day and we had a great time playing this course. Only complaint I have is that it is a bit pricey ($75). I think there are lots of other cheaper options in the area that have similar levels of layout/conditions.

Pace of play was awful due to 3 groups that were together in front of us taking forever, but the ranger came and spoke to us and literally followed them for 6 holes to speed them up. Everyone at the pro shop, to the bar, to the members hanging out and playing behind us were friendly went out of their way to be nice. Great experience even considering the slow play that the club management did every thing they could to help.

Course is in great condition considering the weather they have been dealing with, you can tell they have been putting in a lot of work into it.

And there’s a lot of it. Course is located in a neighborhood with OB on nearly every hole. It may look open, but OB is as close as a few feet from the cart path. Most homes don’t have fence lines so it can be difficult to tell from the tee box.

Overall the course is in good shape for the season and I liked the layout a lot. Lots of slope, but it fits well. Will definitely play again.
