Twelve Stones Golf Club
About
Twelve Stones Golf Club (formerly known as Twelve Stones Crossing) sprawls across rolling hills, making the golf course known for its dramatic elevation changes. An even lie will be hard to find and golfers will also have a few blind shots in store for them. The undulating terrain makes for some difficult holes but it serves another, more player-friendly purpose of providing scenic respite with idyllic views of the surrounding countryside. The greens are lightning fast, but they roll true and there is rough bordering the well-manicured fairways. There are also several bunkers strategically placed throughout. It is a golf course that is challenging but still fun to play, a statement that holds true for a wide range of skill levels. Given the versatile design and affordable rates, Twelve Stones Golf Club is a popular venue for tournaments and outings.

Good for this time of year
In spite of rain past weeks and cool weather,
conditions were OK
Good/bad
12 stones is a mix of great and terrible. Has been for years. It’s a shame the course isn’t ever in better shape because it’s one of the most interesting layouts in town. It’s a tough course by design with elevation changes and water features. But it’s made harder by lopsided tee boxes and patchy greens. The winter conditions are what they are. That’s not on the course. But little things like maybe taking a leaf blower to each green every day to clear off all the little debris that’s on the surface that’s makes putts roll poorly. Stuff like that would make a huge difference. But the course is fun. If in better shape would be a premiere course. I wouldn’t pay more than $35 to play it.
Hello! Thank you so much for leaving us with your feedback. We value our customer experience, so your review is important to us. We will make note and we hope to see you back at Twelve Stones Golf Club!
One of the Better Public Courses North of Nashville
I play here a handful of times per year when theres tournaments/scrambles at my home course. The course in general is well-kept and the fairways are solid most of the year. It's one of the most challenging places to play this side of Nashville, especially when it comes to ball placement off the tee and the back 9 has a stretch of some pretty tough holes for even highly skilled players. Greens are easy to read and run pretty true.
Most of the employees at the course are friendly and the girl in the pro shop is super chill. However, my biggest gripe with the course is that the older gentleman who is the starter is a bit on the cantankerous side and gets upset with you when you book single player tee-times despite allowing this over the phone or through GolfNow. When I come out there, I generally do so to focus on my game and I maintain a very fast pace of play.
The last time I went out there, I intentionally booked a tee-time later in the day on a slow day with multiple open slots within that hour to play by myself without intrusion. When I told him I had a single tee time, he was was noticeably upset and I ended up having to wait an additional 30 mins for another group and join them. Ae ended up getting stuck behind a slow foursome when I would have been on the 6th hole at that point and the twosome I was paired with would have been ahead of them. It turned what would've been a <2hr round for me into 3 1/12 hours and messed up pace of play for everyone else.
Unfortunately, this isn't the first time this has happened and he's paired my twosome up with other twosome before as well. As someone who worked at a golf course for several years, I am usually totally understanding of being paired up when it's a busy day, but holding groups back like this has honestly been a deterrent for me to play at this course much more often.
Starter Bow needs to learn to deal with customers professionally!
The starter kept questioning why I reserve through golfnow.com and not directly with the golf course! He kept saying the course doesn't make money when people reserve through golfnow.com! Yes, I admit I have reserved using golfnow.com to play at their course on numerous times. I like the layout of the course but the green condition is below average! My question to the management is take your course off the golfnow.com list if you don't want people reserving using golfnow.com. Problem Solved.
