Country Hills Golf Club
About
Located just 20 minutes north of Nashville, Country Hills Golf Club in Hendersonville is not only conveniently situated, it also offers a challenging round for golfers of all skill levels. The narrow fairways demand accuracy, especially on the front nine's tricky par 4s. The holes on the back nine are somewhat more open but those benefits are offset by a variety of well-placed hazards and hillier terrain that make it the more challenging of the two nines. Playing with someone who is familiar with the course or at least thoroughly studying the scorecard beforehand would be helpful. Golfers should brace themselves for the especially treacherous second and 15th holes. To prepare for this formidable test, golfers can warm-up on the large driving range and putting green.

Course in very good condition!
Friendly staff and greens were in excellent shape. Course is hilly but was fun and challenging.
Great course
We love rolling and even hilly courses and were not disappointed. The course was in good condition with lots of grass in the fairways. Greens are challenging and in great condition. It was a great round of golf!
Country Hills -- Perfectly Named
As the title suggests, this course is located in the country, and is hilly, Lots of elevation changes. Local knowledge helps -- you might want to take a look at hole #1's landing area if playing for the first time (otherwise a perfect tee ball will find the water).
The bentgrass greens weathered the hot Middle Tennessee summer very well, and were in good condition. Bermuda fairways were also in good shape with a minimal number of bare spots.
Plenty of nice vistas, especially from the 13th green and 14th tee.
Getting better every time
Country Hills is built on the slope of a hill, making it difficult to determine true yardages not to mention trying to hit the ball off uneven lies. I like the challenge. Greens have been in great over the past few years
Price is right
When the price is right it's hard to not enjoy a course. Greens are in great shape. Super fast.
Need a RANGER
I live down the road from this course and love the challenge of it, however a 5 plus hour round is flat unacceptable. Slow players always refuse to let smaller faster groups play through and with no ranger monitoring pace rounds easily run into 4 1/2 to 5 1/2 hours. If you want premium prices you need to give a premium experience.
Liked it!
Overall for the money and course conditions very good! Some of the layouts I really didn't care for but it is challenging. Also no joke about hills here!
First time
Course was in good shape. Layout is challenging but fun to play.
Awesome layout
Have been playing golf for over 40 years and this was the most interesting layout I have ever seen. I look for an interesting layout and good greens, this course had both Pro shop staff was excellent also. Do yourself a favor and play this course.
Tough Course
This course is challenging with a lot of blind shots. Also greens are fast with a lot of break. Will be going back in the spring.
Tough but fun course
Greens were FAST and the roughs are THICK. Stay on the fairway! Only criticism is the condition of some of the greens, but it's late summer. Overall this is one of my favorite courses in middle TN. Always a challenge for a newb like myself.
Great Value
I always have fun playing this course. Two of us played in under four hours!
FIRST-TIMERS BEWARE
The staff (of 1) was great. The greens were in terrible shape. The course is extremely challenging for 1st timers.....blind shots with US Open rough. Our group had decent golfers (10-20 hcp)and it took us 3 hrs to play 9 holes, every hole looking for a ball you had to step on to find. For recreational golfers the difficulty took the fun out and we quit after 9 holes. They did give us an 18 hole rain check. There is a fine line between a tough course and uplayable. Glad we didn't pay more.
good value
Have played course many times. This is a shot makers course. A few bare spots and a few greens suffering but it's that time of year. Good value for the money.
Great challenge
Love this course. It makes you play position golf. Great greens.
Challenging, well kept course
This course was in good condition and a pleasure to play. The clubhouse had double booked tee times and we're having people go off the front and back simultaneously. It made for a crowded morning, but it was because a tournament was set to shotgun at 1pm. We got rushed at the end so they could clear the course for the tournament. A little annoying since we paid to be there but I would go back to Country Hills again
Slow Wet
Five and a half hours to play, even if it's cart path only it should not take 5 1/2 hrs to play. Course needs work!!!! Course cannot handle rain, and it is not maintained. Stay away.
Will not play again
To be fair, they did have a lot of rain, but it had not rained in three days when we played. I would say 50% of the fairways were unplayable. Around several greens it was just dirt, paid $37, would not pay $10. I would just like courses to be honest with you when the course is in bad condition. This course may look entirely different in the summer, but it was bad when we played. Even if the fairways were grass and not dirt, I would not play there due to the fact there isn't any landing areas on some holes. The course could really be nice with some modifications, but for me, I will not play there again!
Wet But Pleasant
I enjoy this course for what it is. Excellent value, beautiful scenery, and quiet. For this early in the year the greens are in good condition. We played on a very wet day and some of the fairways haven't come in yet but a little toe wedge here and there found a good lie. There are some serious elevation changes which make for some beautiful views as well as some interesting club selections. Not too much water but well placed bunkers and several doglegs bring the trees into play. Great course for the money and the staff is great. Check it out!
