Country Hills Golf Club
About
Located just 20 minutes north of Nashville, Country Hills Golf Club in Hendersonville is not only conveniently situated, it also offers a challenging round for golfers of all skill levels. The narrow fairways demand accuracy, especially on the front nine's tricky par 4s. The holes on the back nine are somewhat more open but those benefits are offset by a variety of well-placed hazards and hillier terrain that make it the more challenging of the two nines. Playing with someone who is familiar with the course or at least thoroughly studying the scorecard beforehand would be helpful. Golfers should brace themselves for the especially treacherous second and 15th holes. To prepare for this formidable test, golfers can warm-up on the large driving range and putting green.

Challenging design
Played Country Hills for the first time this week. Friendly staff. The course was in good shape for this time of year (March). Greens were quite fast but rolled true. The tee shot has to be thought out here. Can't just bomb it on this course. Some holes I'm still not sure were the landing spot for you tee shot would be. Many of the holes have a lot of elevation changes. Makes for some great views. I think the course difficulty can lead to slower play for below average golfers.
Fun track!!
Fun and extremely challenging at the same time. I enjoyed the course layout, while the greens reminded me of putting on granite countertops,, fast but true. Can't wait to go back
Great Condition for a Municple course
The greens were punched about 2 weeks ago and in another week will be super.
Very poor Attitude at the front desk! Poor course management.
After Golfing at this course over 6 times in the past month,It has become painfully obvious that the personnel at the front desk are NOT golfers.I have been there every time in the early AM .This course Has a range,Although of the 6 times i have been there.the range was not available for use 3 times upon arrival. I am sorry to say that The staff at this course are less than professional. Who Golfs 18 Holes without Hitting any before the round? I was told the range was closed On Wednesday.Although when coming in off 18 the range was by some miracle open and in use. I do not like being lied to ! If the staff was too lazy to get the range open on time for opening then say that,DONT LIE TO PLAYERS ABOUT IT ! I will never play this course again. EVER!
Great Course, Great Staff, Great Value!
I played a foursome the other day but we booked 2x2 at different tee times through GolfNow. I called up Rusty at the clubhouse and he totally helped us out. He allowed my two buddies who had later tee times to move up and tee off with us keeping our foursome together. Thanks Rusty!
This isn't a course where you can pull out the driver and just "Grip It & Rip It". Almost every tee box presents a challenge and forces you to think about which club to hit off tee depending on what time of approach shot you want to hit. That being if you can keep it in the narrow fairways.
Even a perfectly hit drive will most times leave you with a very undulating lie as Country Hills is an appropriate name as almost every hole is either sloping or uphill.
The Par 3's are some of my favorite hole's I've played and some of the most beautiful. Almost all of them are either 10-20 yards below the tee box once again making you think about what club to hit.
Not to many hazards on the course as far as water or sand traps, but like mentioned above the challenge on this course is the consistent slopping and narrowness of the course.
As for as course condition, I would put Country Hills up against any public course in the Nashville area as being the best around! The fairways are always green and lush, no dead spots, no dry spots, no trash nothing but pure beautiful green fairways.
The same can be said about the greens, always in amazing shape. Never any dry spots, dead spots or anything that makes putting more challenging than it is. Pin placement is constantly changing and always challenging and a little note: more times than not you do NOT want to be above the hole as putting downhill will be a challenge, the greens are fast and it's hard to get the ball to stop once rolling down hill.
All in all, I love this course and HIGHLY recommend everyone giving it a shot. One of the best courses around.
OK value
There was a lot of mowing and weed-wacking going on while golfing...
Hills, Hills and more Hills
The rolling hills create a unique challenge and the price of the course creates a great value.
Tricky, but fun.
Country Hills is quite tricky. Sloping fairways, elevation changes and hidden danger. Maintained well, with fantastic greens. Enjoyed my round and will surely be back.
Tight fairways. Fast greens. Traps need attention. Great value.
Liked the elevation changes. Some tight holes. Greens were well maintained and fast. Some interesting water hazards. Few bunkers need work. Will definitely play again. Takes playing a time or two to learn the course.
Great Course!
Nice course, but challenging as well. Fairways and greens always in great shape. I always enjoy playing there.
Good short course that requires accuracy.
Really like this course. Only 6200 from tips, but it requires thinking on every shot because of the slops.
Very nice course
Enjoyable layout. Good challenges. Course condition very good
Best value in Hendersonville
Country Hills has rapidly become my favorite local spot to play. The par 70 course is way more challenging than meets the eye. The course set up rewards creativity, shot precision and length. Many of the par 4's force you to go with much less than a driver but on the others the grip it and rip it works perfectly. This course is known locally for its smooth fast greens. They never disappoint! The undulation plus speed will challenge every level of golfer. The greens role smooth so every put is fair and all 18 greens are consistent in speed and firmness. The staff is knowledgeable and welcoming. This is a must play course for a round that you are wanting to challenge your iron play and putting skills!
Great Value
Great course, great value, a couple of holes are silly, but overall good couse and conditions.
We are sorry for your slow round last Sunday. for whatever reason this past Sunday was overally busy with some of the best weather we have had in a while. We had run over 200 golfers through here that day and if I recall you guys were just a twosome so playing behind all those 4 somes can be a pain. to top it all off we had a group of 20 in a bachelor party that went out around 1:00 that I constantly had to go out and get to quit waiting on the group behind them to get to the green. We even quit running the beverage cart in hopes they would speed up. again I am sorry, unfortunately when the weather is nice and you tee off around 3:00 on a busy Saturday or Sunday afternoon the pace of play can be somewhat slow. we like for everyone to play in 4 1/2 hours and sounds like you guys were on a 5 hour pace as you quit with 2 holes remaining and had already been on the golf course 4 1/2 hours. We hope you will try us again this summer as we have more employees starting in May and will be able to marshall the course better. We appreciate you choosing Country Hills and hope you will give us another try.
Very slow play...
I love to play on this course but I have noticed that they are starting to "overbook" the course. Had a tee time for 2:48 yesterday and got out at 3. At 7:30pm we stopped playing.... we had just finished playing the 16th hole... The reason we stopped??? 2 groups of 4 waiting on the 17th. So for 4.5 hours of play I got in 16 holes.
I would be more than willing to pay a few more dollars a round if there were Rangers there to speed up play.
Challenging but fun
This course is very challenging for the casual golfer, but tons of fun. Several blind tee shots, water is in play on many holes and you are playing on the side of a small mountain. That being said, this course was in good condition. Tee boxes were a bit shaggy, but everything was green. This course will get you thinking, as many shots are to a target well above or well below your current position.
Tricky course but fun!
Greens and fairways were in great shape. Greens were super fast and firm, which made for a good challenge.
Great time with friends.
The guys and me had a fantastic time. It was more challenging than we needed for a couple of guys in our group.
Never gets Easier
Greens were super fast. All in all a good day and you can't beat the Hot Deal. Thanks Golf Now. Brett
Challenging course at a good price.
The course live up to its name, Country Hills, as there are a lot of steep slopes on it. But, that also leads to some nice views. Need to keep your ball below the hole on several holes to make putting easier.
Sir I hate that you've had a bad experience at Country Hills. It is and has been our policy to have the range closed from 5 oclock on Tuesday afternoon until around 10 oclock on Wednesday to allow for us to pick the range clean of golf balls and be able to mow the range Wednesday morning without cutting up balls. Unfortunately if Wednesday mornings is your choice for play than this is going to be the case almost every time as this is one of our slowest mornings thus why we picked that day. As for the staff being less than professional I apologize if they did not properly explain why the range was closed and for how long. Lastly, although I agree with you on "who golfs 18 holes without hitting balls" surprisingly almost 75% of our players do not hit range balls before play. I certainly wish they would as it would help our bottom line. We hope you will consider giving us another try and I would welcome you to contact me either directly at the course or by phone anytime so we can come to a better understanding. We do appreciate your play and hope you will reconsider and come again.
