Country Hills Golf Club
About
Located just 20 minutes north of Nashville, Country Hills Golf Club in Hendersonville is not only conveniently situated, it also offers a challenging round for golfers of all skill levels. The narrow fairways demand accuracy, especially on the front nine's tricky par 4s. The holes on the back nine are somewhat more open but those benefits are offset by a variety of well-placed hazards and hillier terrain that make it the more challenging of the two nines. Playing with someone who is familiar with the course or at least thoroughly studying the scorecard beforehand would be helpful. Golfers should brace themselves for the especially treacherous second and 15th holes. To prepare for this formidable test, golfers can warm-up on the large driving range and putting green.

fun course to play
I always enjoy playing Country Hills. It's always a challenge but not too difficult. The course today was not in the best shape. Fairways were still in winter condition however we paid the spring rate. I think $42 is too high for the condition it was in. I will play it again especially when the grass starts to grow.
we played 18 holes
it was not cancelled paid at course it was in good shape
The name is true
Played this course for the first time. First off, it is a pretty tough track. Short, but the fairways are narrow and almost every fairway is sloped. The elevation changes make for a fun time. If you are a grip and rip type player... This course may eat you up.
Only issue I had was the staff in the clubhouse rushing us the tee box. Had a 112 tee time and arrived at 1230 to hit some balls and putt. Staff told us "weather was coming" and to "get on 1 now" because with a hot deal there was no rain check because the course didn't make any money. It was a put off for sure
Zach
The course allowed five players to tee off. The five players played very very slowly. It took five and half hours to play 18 holes, That's ridiculous. The five playerS were drinking and cussing all over the course. They should have never been allowed to tee off!
teeitup
tough track from blue tee. extremely hilly. greens in good shape, fairways ok but winter kill still hurt spots. overall, very challenging and fun.
Solid
For the ~$20 I paid, I have no issue with this course. There were a few rough fairways, but the greens were excellent. The course wasn't busy, and we finished in under 3 hours.
Meh
Rough tee boxes and inconsistent greens. Fun layout. Aptly named with no shortage of hills. Pace of play bothered me most, but it was a holiday weekend.
Course in good condition, pushy staff ruined experience
Reserved a tee time for 2 at 11:05am and arrived an hour early to shoot a bucket and putt. After shooting a bucket, a staff member asked if we wanted to join another twosome and play early. We said we wanted to chip and putt before our tee time. This particular staff member was very pushy about starting us early. I understand pace of play but we reserved a tee time and arrived early for a reason. The course is in good condition and is challenging but because of the staff experience I won't be returning.
Great course
Course was well maintained and a good pace of play. Great value for the price
Greens were great
Got this through a hot deal & have played the course many times. The tee boxes were in pretty good shape, the fairways for the most part were in good shape but several could use some work due to being bare with hardly any grass. The greens were in amazing shape, they rolled true & smooth.
ineresting course
i play here because of the course and the staff This course requires good course management
Country hills
Fair prices, good course, tough when cart path only in affect though.
Decent course
First time playing this course. Everyone said be ready for hills, but I think that is an understatement. Blind tee shots and tight fairways make this course a challenge. If you like wide open courses, this is not the place for you. You have to play your shots wisely here or your ball will roll away! And I am not joking! The greens were in good shape. Rolled true and the fairways were beginning to green up for the most part. The only drawback was that it had rained the night before and there were plenty of soggy spots throughout the fairways. Overall it was a nice course and I will play again.
Staff is terrible
Ended up playing behind the group that had the teetime AFTER mine and play the entire round in almost 5hrs. Staff said they group in front of me was on pace, but they didn't take into account that they teed off early. Asked for a ranger at the turn and found out they didn't have one that day. Went in after the round to ask what the groups name was booked so I can ask if they are playing when/if I book in the future. The person inside said "I do this for a living and they are on pace" not exactly what you want to hear when you've been waiting 10-15 mins per hole when teeing off, and again on the second shot. My usual playing partner just got a membership there for the year. I was debating it, but now if they gave it to me for free id still say no.
Management there needs to educate the staff on how to handle situations like this
Challenging
The greens were excellent! Tee shots are a priority. If you're looking to score, you won't be grabbing the driver on a lot of the holes. Fun course and the staff were really friendly.
5hr30min round
Staff said that's normal after I stopped in and asked for the ranger which wasn't there that day. Came back in after 18th and the employee said "I do this for a living" when questioned. I'll never play here again
full of surprises
We traveled south from Michigan to escape the snow, and find some green grass and golf. We played several RTJ courses, and found this course on Golf Now. It was challenging because of the elevation changes which we enjoy, the water, and slope of the fairways. Never sure what kind of surprise might be around the corner.
Two complaints in an otherwise fun outing
First, why does Country Hills not have ball washers on a day after rain? Stop being lazy guys. Put one out on every other hole or every third. You're aware of course conditions with or without rain the day before.
My biggest complaint is the staff booking about 5 foursomes in a twenty minute stretch after a group of 20-25 went off and took nearly an hour to tee off.
As a result, a 5.5 hour round of golf followed. At a minimum, there needs to be a ranger riding around focusing on speed of play. Regardless of how busy you are, the consideration for those already playing or who paid to play should be given the consideration of not cramming every golfnow.com booking into the day.
The greens were recently aerated, but have come back nicely. The fairways are still atrocious from the winter, but will come back in nicely as well. Hardly playable at this point though unless you use your foot wedge to adjust your lie.
First time I've played CH this year and I'll probably wait at least another month before attempting it again because 5.5 hours isn't worth playing in poor course conditions.
Challenging design
Played Country Hills for the first time this week. Friendly staff. The course was in good shape for this time of year (March). Greens were quite fast but rolled true. The tee shot has to be thought out here. Can't just bomb it on this course. Some holes I'm still not sure were the landing spot for you tee shot would be. Many of the holes have a lot of elevation changes. Makes for some great views. I think the course difficulty can lead to slower play for below average golfers.
