Twelve Stones Golf Club
About
Twelve Stones Golf Club (formerly known as Twelve Stones Crossing) sprawls across rolling hills, making the golf course known for its dramatic elevation changes. An even lie will be hard to find and golfers will also have a few blind shots in store for them. The undulating terrain makes for some difficult holes but it serves another, more player-friendly purpose of providing scenic respite with idyllic views of the surrounding countryside. The greens are lightning fast, but they roll true and there is rough bordering the well-manicured fairways. There are also several bunkers strategically placed throughout. It is a golf course that is challenging but still fun to play, a statement that holds true for a wide range of skill levels. Given the versatile design and affordable rates, Twelve Stones Golf Club is a popular venue for tournaments and outings.

Great views, just need a professional greens keeper. Photo submitted by HgaGolf on 10/06/2013
Don’t bother
I give this course a two thumbs down and would make it more, but I only have two thumbs!!!
Worse greens I have ever played with a large amount of damage and holes filled with sand fertilizer. At least 35% of every green was in dire need of repair. The ball didn’t stand a chance of making it to the hole with an obstacle course in the way for every shot.
The tee boxes were like playing off the beach. They were covered with holes filled with sand. Just awful.
The fairways were burned, dead, and damage all over the place. We did see one hole getting watered so there must be irrigation, but it’s certainly not used enough.
I would never recommend d this course. Too bad it’s not better maintained because it has potential.
The restaurant staff was very pleasant and accommodating.
Best Greens in the area
I have played at several middle TN courses. By far the best in the area.
New head greenkeeper deserves a raise
Like the title says this guy deserves a raise. This course went through some tough times when the neighborhood kids used the amazing hills this course has as a sledding hill.
A year ago this course was a mess, through no fault of its own, but now you can almost never tell it happened. A few greens still have some areas under repair, but you can seriously see it get better week to week. Next summer you won’t be able to tell it ever happened.
A very fun challenge as the highest Slope Public Course in Mid Tn
Good Course
I played Twelve Stones for the first time yesterday. I would describe it as a hilly course which adds to the challange for me. Course management is a must as there are several streams and stream beds that cut across fairway's I hit great drives on 3 holes only to have them end up in the stream. Mobile cart was very visable 4-5 times through the round. Did not go into the restaurant afterward, but will next time. And there will be a next time.
Don't waste your money
Course needs A LOT of work! Everything was dried out and the greens were in terrible shape. I have three words for this golf course IRRIGATION IRRIGATION IRRIGATION IRRIGATION! Water your freaking golf course!
Dense rough, several greens and tee boxes with extensive burnt/bare spots. The intact areas of the greens rolled moderately quick and true.
Decent value at the GN discount rate.
Poor conditions.
Greens and tee boxes were in very very poor condition. Looked diseased ( black patches everywhere around the tee boxes and flags). Covered in sand too, which affected play severely.
Greens need some love
This is an unnecessarily tough course, lots of blind shots up and down hills. Balls disappear into the second cut. Tee to green Bermuda grass with most greens having several bare and sandy spots. Carts have gps and beep at you while driving on the cart paths, kind of distracting and confusing. Staff was super friendly and the beverage cart came around several times, also very friendly.
Worst Course in the Area
Extremely terrible course conditions. Rocks in the fairways. 90% dead greens. The absolute worst starter I’ve ever experienced. Terrible restaurant staff. Empty water coolers on course in 90+ degree heat.
Worst decision ever
This course shouldn’t even be open for business. Every fairway /Green is unplayable, dirt and mud patches crovering half of every hole. I wouldn’t play here again if they payed me to.
Bad Greens
Greens are in terrible shape. All but one Par 3 had black patches coverng at least half the greens...
Unfortunately last winter they had a bunch of holes damaged from neighborhood kids sledding. A year ago that steep uphill hole on the front 9 before the par 3 was nothing but mud sadly.
I agree it needs work, but since I started regularly playing there a month ago I’ve seen good progress week to week.
