Great value for the money. Greens in great shape. Tee boxes could use a little work.

Scheduled tee time was 11:57 AM. We arrived early and finished warming up by 11:10. We were informed we had been paired with another twosome. There were no other golfers on the course- about 40 minutes passed without anyone teeing off. We asked to go out early and were informed we would have to pay an additional fee to change the tee time. The guy condescendingly said it was like buying a discount airline ticket. So we sat there waiting for the other twosome to arrive at the empty tee until our tee time.

At #7, we started to get pushed by a twosome. We offered to let them play thru, but they declined. For the remainder of the round, our foursome was pushed by a twosome and single who played thru the twosome.

Had we been allowed to go out as a twosome, the other golfers behind us would have not caught us. The decision to make us play as a foursome when the course was nearly empty adversely affected our golf as well as the players behind us. It was clearly a way of discouraging players who took advantage of the reduced Golfnow rates. BTW, we finished our round in 3 hours 45 minutes.

So Golfnow players beware- don't expect to be treated like a full paying customer at this golf course. There are too many other good courses closer to Huntsville that don't discriminate against Golfnow players to put up with that attitude.

As a side note, the bermuda rough was long enough that you had to literally walk over a ball to locate it. Our foursome lost several balls which were not hit badly, but landed slightly right or left of the greens- but because we were being pushed, we did not take the full 5 minutes allowed to locate balls.

I and 3 friends drove an hour based on previous reviews. Temp was high 90s. Staff was excellent, course was in good shape despite high temp.

Now the bad news. We teed off early but were behind a few groups of locals who obviously were playing some kind of game as a group. The group right in front of us fell 2 holes behind quickly, sped up for 2 holes then hit the brakes again.

To make matters worse: After hitting their second shot on a Par 4 on the back nine, this group decided to walk to the next tee box (a Par 3) to watch their buddies tee off instead of driving to the their green, all while we stood on the tee box waiting to play. No apology and no marshal around all day to herd the cats!

On a Saturday morning when the parking lot was half full, it took 5 hrs to play. We waited excessively on 16 of the 18 holes despite the fact that my group included a stroke victim with a 23 hdcp, a beginner who carries a 54 hdcp and his wife who shoots in the low 100s. We could have easily finished 30-45 mins earlier, proving you do not have to be good to play fast. The course needs an active marshal program.

As for the quirkiness of the course: Three holes have large trees in the middle of the fairway, I did not understand that. Approaches to two holes are virtually blocked by more trees 50 yards in front of the green, I did not understand that.

I am saddened by our experience because I was actually scouting the course as a possible venue for the Golf Association I am the Chair of.

Course was in really good shape. Always a fun time as the design allows / encourages several ways to play many of the holes. Not always a bomb & wedge. Greens are rolling really well.

I have a course 10 mins from my house. Why do I not play there as opposed to driving 45 mins to play Saddle Creek. Easy: the other course is over-priced, not in good condition, pace of play issues and the staff could care less if you are there. Saddle Creek is the exact opposite. Awesome course, bar/grill, free range balls with your round, get you out early if they can, send you off the back if they can. Basically, Jason and staff get it. You're the customer and they want you back. They're glad to have you at their course. Unlike the 'other course' where you're supposed to act honored to be on their course.

Open wide, friendliest of staff, fairways and greens very well kept, worth every penny! Worth the drive from huntsville

We drove from Pulaski to find this jewel of a course. in excellent condition, several holes are very challdnging from design standpoint, but overall the course is very playable for all handicaps. Greens were smooth and quick. Lovedit.

I got this on a hot deal and it was worth it. Drove a little over a hour from Nashville to try this course out. The proshop staff was very friendly. The did not have food in the snack room other than candy bars at the time. The greens rolled perfect and were quick. The tee box and fairways were also in great shape except for about 3 holes. Would definitely make the drive again

I have played on a couple dozen courses in middle and southern Middle Tennessee. This is far and away the best course to play on.the staff and service is excellent. every round includes a pyramid of balls to hit on the range before you start, and I've never had a bad experience there.whenever my brother in law comes in from indianapolis, it's the only course he wants to play. And he has played on several courses featured on the PGA Tour.

Course is in fantastic shape...fairways are coming in nicely after a tough winter. The greens are the best around.
The staff at Saddle Creek is most accommodating and super friendly.

The course is coming in nicely. The fairways are almost completely full of Bermuda now. The course is looking better than I have ever seen it. The greens were in great condition. As always, Jason and his staff are always very friendly and helpful with anything you might need. Highly recommend playing at Saddle Creek. Saw a turkey on the course last week and a deer out there this time.

First time playing there. The staff were very nice and helpful. The course was tricky. Desetively fast greens. Small greens so you have to be on your game. Can't wait to play the course again. I recommend this course to everyone. You will have a blast !

excellent course overall. After almost a week of rain, the fairways were a little stressed, but the greens were some of the best I have ever played. The staff went out of they're way to make us feel welcomed, and the practice facilities were top notch. New favorite course!!!

After being terribly disappointed on Tues, we hit the "gold mine" on Thurs. What a wonderful course. Free range balls for any reservation. Tee boxes were groomed, fairways were over-seeded to give Bermuda grass time to rebound from winter. Bunkers were raked and fluffy, and greens were meticulous. The staff was friendly, just couldn't ask for a better experience for early in the year.

Challenging the first time to play because of the need for correct driving placement. Lots of doglegs with 1 & 9 being doglegs at the end back over a creek. 9 has a big tree right in the middle off the tree and 10 has a large tree on the left side of the fairway blocking the green if you hit it too long down the middle. Greens were in great shape, the bermuda had yet to start growing. Outstanding layout that I am looking forward to play again with my course knowledge better.

Golf course: A very wet day. However, the course is in good shape and the greens are fantastic.
People and facility: You are not going to find nicer people in Middle Tennessee. The facility and food are very good.

I have nothing bad to say about this course. The staff was excellent, friendly, and made you feel like a VIP. the course was in excellent condition for this time of year (March). The Tee boxes were all clear;y marked and I believe this course is good for any level of golfer.Also the driving range was as nice as I have ever seen on any golf course.
