Pleasantly surprised
Never played it before but was pleasantly surprised. Challenging layout and greens that allow for target golf and true putts.
nice course
love the course, the front 9 and back are different but a good layout on both. Played here many times staff very friendly.
The only complaint I have is the day we played was behind a group of 5 looking for balls on every hole, 2.5 hrs. front 9.
Need a marshal on busy days, as for conditions of course the greens were little beat up.
Change of Staff Not Good
For some reason they made a staff change. The rough is out of control. I lost 2 ball in the ruff . One by the 150 marker on #9 and the other on #18 just off the fairway due to lack of mowing and it hasn't rained in a week.
The staff is less than accommodating . Seem miffed I booked on line. Visiting my mom the course is nearby and during the week I can play fast by myself. I am handicapped and there are never flags.
Overall enjoyable experience. Good value. Nice layout.
The course has some really well laid out holes. The greens hold and are not too challenging. The fairways were in good shape, but the rough, sand traps, etc. need work. However, for the price paid, I can not complain.
Nicest staff I've ever met, and beautiful course!
The staff at this course were absolutely excellent, accommodating, and bent over backwards to make our experience enjoyable. The course was gorgeous, and left plenty of room for mistakes but enough challenges to keep the game fun.
Nice course and a sold value for Sun afternoon
Rocky start as a tourney was still finishing and carts were not available. Teed off 15 minutes late. Once out the course it was quit empty.
Only playing the front 9, the greens were in very good shape I would highly recommend a can of bug spray as the bugs are starving at dusk.
Course kept in great condition, but management needs to improve efficiency of play time
Yesterday was the second time I have visited SaddleCreek this summer. This was one time too many in my opinion. Let me be clear on why this is not an issue with the condition of the golf course, but an issue of why management needs addressed.
At my first visit this summer, I arrived approximately an hour prior to my tee time of 11:00 a.m. I was informed by the manager that they did not have any carts remaining, and if we wanted to have a cart, we would have to wait for people to finish their rounds first. What happened next ruined my day for this experience. We did not end up teeing off until approximately 11:45 a.m. once we finally had a cart, and then they let a five-some go off the tee box in front of us. They also did not have any rangers police-ing the course to keep up pace of play. First round ended up taking 5 hours and 15 minutes.
I figured I would give them another chance yesterday. I had a 9:30 tee time. We arrived at 8:20 for our tee time. Carts were available this time, however, they said they were already backed up about 15 minutes on the first tee. Again, there was no ranger making sure pace of play was staying up. We pulled up to the first tee where 3 or 4 groups were waiting, a foursome, a threesome and a foursome. As players began to tee off, I noticed that the last foursome were not interacting with each other but both said they had a 9:25 tee time. I called the clubhouse, and the person running the front desk stated that he told them that even though they were scheduled to play together, since they didn't know each other, they could play as twosomes. This ended up putting us over 30 minutes behind off the first tee box. Due to the poor management of this golf course, I will not be re-visiting it in the future. I would much rather go to another golf course and pay a few extra dollars and be able to play in a timely and efficient manner.
Play it down.
Course is in great shape, so much so that you can play the ball down and enjoy your round. Greens are a good speed and putting smooth, blue tees are a challenge.
Two courses in one.
The front nine winds its way through woods, creeks and several holes border ponds. The back nine is a links style course... wide open and windy. Course makes you go through most of your clubs. Drivers, 3 woods, and irons off some tees. All the par 5's can be reached in two but offer considerable penalty for failure. Several par 4's are reachable in two. The only two things this course lacks are: one really long par 4 and one par 3 where a long or even a mid iron is needed. Driving range is great.
Birdie the Boot!
Well maintained fun course for all levels of golfers. Solid greens provide trustworthy lines and reads. Enjoyed my round at Saddle Creek very much.
good bargain if not expecting perfect conditions.
staff was very friendly. carts were in very good shape, the course was a little rough around the edges(could use some watering and over seeding to thicken the fairways). overall for the money, it was better than expected.
Nice Course
Very nice course with good greens. Fun course to play although back nine is very open. Staff was very helpful. There was not a ranger and we played behind a couple of groups that were very slow.
Greens were aerated but rolled out ok.
Staff is always friendly and the course was is decent shape despite the poor weather we've been having lately.
OK at a discount but not worth full fees
Decent overall course and pretty well-maintained. Usually easy to get a tee time. Pace of play is always good, even with no course rangers (and no beverage/snack cart). They put money into it in the last couple years and raised their greens fees but anything more than $30 for this course is too much. Giving it an "average" value because we played for $22 -- thanks GolfNow -- and I would recommend it for that price.
course in excellen t condition
Course was in excellent condition.been playing here since 1998 and course in best shape ever.greens were fast.
Always a great test for your game.
Great layout! Course is always in great condition. Staff is super friendly!!
Everything was great
Course in great shape, no wait, price was good with the help of Golf.com. I will definitely be back.
Go early, play very quick.
This is a nice course for the money. The staff is very friendly and the clubhouse has decent food/ drinks. The replay rate is $1 a hole.
The course was in good shape for this time of year.
The greens are in good shape, very responsive and true. The fairways still have grass in them but dormant this time of year.
