Smyrna Golf Course - Regulation Course

Rude experience with clubhouse staff, while trying to purchase a drink on the turn around, because she wanted to close. I also believe they let an unscheduled group of friends squeeze in between t times which I would be fine with, but the pace of play was already way backed up, and then they cut our round short on hole 15 with enough daylight to play at least two holes, just because they wanted to go home early on a Friday night. With the cost of play these days I expect a better experience.

Considering the high volume of play and the current high temps, course is in great shape.

First the good. Smyrna is a great golf course as far as layout, structure, clubhouse and staffing. They offer a full 18 hole course as well as a 9 hole executive course. I had an 11:40 tee time and we promptly teed off around that time, give or take 1-2 minutes. Great for a fairly busy summer Thursday in June. The fairways, and greens were in spectacular shape on the front side ( I only got 9 holes in, more on that in a second). Greens rolled true and the speed was consistent throughout all holes and the fairways were fast considering we have gotten some rain the past week or so.

Now, the bad. The tee boxes need some attention or people need to be given a lesson on proper maintenance of the golf course. Some tee boxes were beat up fairly bad and it was hard to find level ground in some areas. Golf carts could use some attention from a staging point of view, no scorecards in carts and they were a tad dingy and dated.

Finally, the ugly. Pace of play on this particular day was ATROCIOUS to say the least. The Marshall is of no help, we saw him twice and not once did he mention what the hold up was or if they were doing anything about it. Now I don't know if this is a spacing issue or a planning issue or they are just getting a massive influx of newer golfers but I left after 9 holes (paid for 18). Like I said, we teed off promptly at our designated tee time, 11:40 and we were putting out on 9 at 2:20 p.m . So it was a 2 hour and 40 minute 9 holes. That is insane. I understand the demographic of that course is a little bit older and it is a teaching golf course, but something should have been done to get the pace of play up to a reasonable level.

I enjoy this golf course from a layout point of view and it is in great shape for this time of year but the pace of play and the constant waiting on every shot would keep me from recommending it to anyone at a decent skill level.

Good course, good condition. Fairways are firm and greens look good just your usual ware and tare. Greens were not that receptive to wedge shots in but it's been hot and dry where we live so it's to be expected. Pace of play was a touch slow we got through 9 holes in 2.5 hours. Overall beautiful course challengeing and fun to play.

Course in good condition and greens rolling nicely. This kind of price puts some of the other public courses to shame for their prices. Great staff inside clubhouse, young man who checked us in was great. Will certainly be back here with my work group!

I've played here twice now. It is a good course with fun hole variety, not too difficult, and decent greens.

Course layout and conditions are much better than what you get for similar prices or more around Nashville. Solid Muni.

If you can find a hot deal on golf now or barstool golf Smyrna golf course is a great price and decent value for the money. Overall just think it is a little overpriced with their normal rates, but still a great option in the Nashville area. The course was in pretty good condition with some yucky spots on fairways, but overall it was good. Greens were in great shape and tee boxes were probably 6/10. Course layout is fun and enjoyable and offers up some challenge from the back tees while being friendly enough for mid handicappers. I will definitely be back if I can keep finding cheaper than normal tee times.

The golf course was very crowded. The green was just aerated. The green is very big. It’s very challenging golf course. I would recommend for anyone who is looking for reasonable prices.
