StoneWater Golf Club

This was the first time I had the opportunity to play this course after hearing many positive comments about it from others. Overall I was disappointed.

Pros:

The layout and design of this course was very challenging and exciting to play.

The amenities of the course were good. It had a nice practice range and putting green. The carts do not have GPS.

The greens were cut fast enough to be challenging, but fair and the putts rolled true.

The staff was very friendly and respectful as we encounter maintenance works on almost every hole on during the round.

Cons:

The overall condition of the course was disappointing. There were multiple holes with unkept bunkers and fairway damage. It did recently rain, but the course managed the wet just fine.

The members are rude to non member guests. On the second hole my group was approached buy a member who want to make sure they “wouldn’t be waiting on us all day”. Mind you I was playing in a twosome and they were a fivesome. We offered to let them play through as it was the group in front of us holding everyone up, but they declined. By the 7th hole we were being hit into by their group.

Overall the experience here was mediocre at best and considering the premium rates they charge I would recommend playing elsewhere.

Greens were awful to the putt on, dead spots, and bumpy. Fairways were fine bit the sand traps were pure trash. For what they charge you save your money and play a metro park course, they are in much better shape. The staff was not too friendly besides the club house guy. Cart boys had us drive the cart to the barn while they sat in a cart waiting for someone to come up to tip them. I know I won't play there again and I advise anyone not to.

The greens need some significant improvement to consider playing again. I was really surprised at what bad shape they were in...especially for the fees that are charged.

Fairways were in decent shape and they were working on the traps.

Starter was pleasant and the woman working in the bar area after our round was very friendly/accommodating.

Greens were a joke the staff was very rude can’t even get a beer after the round payed $78 never again

The corse was just aerated and the staff didn’t tell us on the phone when we booked and they still charged $52 in mid April. Course was a mess and the greens were un-puttable. Staff was rude and we couldn’t even get a beer after the round due to lack of service or concern. Have played many times and have always enjoyed it, but it was such a bad experience that I will not be going back anytime soon. The management should be embarrassed.

This course is way overpriced. It's a great layout that I really enjoy but the conditions are bad. The greens are awful. Why can't courses figure out when to aerate? The greens never healed from last year. Just like Little Mountain, Hanlin's other course, this place is in terrible shape. Charging $50 for a course in this condition is pretentious and unethical. I'll go to a course that actually takes pride in their property next time.

I played this course with high expectations. It reviewed well. The pictures look beautiful. The course has a fun layout but the overall conditions made me think I got ripped off. For a place charging $65+ per round for 18 holes, I expect a lot more. The greens were in absolute CRAP condition especially near the fringe. This place has a holier than thou feel to it. Can't recommend it. Use your money elsewhere.

Good service. Decent course. Traps were a mess but that’s normal for Ohio in November unless you are at a really nice course. Would go back. Kinda pricey.

Played here several times over the years. Usually good condition but front nine needs some help. Pretty straightforward layout with a couple good holes.

I have played this course about 10years away . I was playing from the white. But today we played from the tips , omg was it a hard and challenging course. The fairway and the green was very well manicure .tye green was lighting far and ran very true .

Took my dad here from out of town. Course was in amazing shape and the greens were rolling well. Fairways were great, tee boxes nice, everything was great.

Beautiful course one of the best in Cleveland for sure! Range is really nice as well. Challenging for sure but not over the top. Must play for any avid golfer. Enjoy!

Course was in great shape. Greens rolled beautifully. Definitely worth going back and playing again. A good mix of easy and tough holes.
