Great Course! No Marshalls!
Just beware, there is nobody on the course that monitors pace of play.
Very nice public course
We had an afternoon tee time on a Friday. Course was busy but we had room to warm up and play with no hassle. Staff were very friendly and helpful to 3 players new to the course. Course was well maintained and great to play!
always a good value
Had a nice round at Brambleton yesterday. My only complaint was the starter was a bit confused, costing me substantial time. No one showed up at my tee time, so instead of sending me out with no one on the tee or the entire 1st hole, he stumbled and bumbled until 3 persons with the next tee time showed and sent me out with them. Two of them were awful and it took us 4.5 hrs with the group behind launching tee shots past us on one hole. I could have played in 3 hrs as a single. If I have a tee time, am there, and no one is in front of me, why can't I go?
The course has some bare spots, and many tee boxes could use some work, but for a Muni w a lot of traffic, Brambleton does not disappoint.
Not bad
Nice layout, fun stretch, it's an okay price point, though probably about 15% over priced...
Drainage is a problem (saw a ton of those crusty dried mud patches in the fairways).
Sand traps get hard & flooded due to poor drainage.
Crab grass on many tees, and some in fairways.
If they don't start getting marshals on the course to coerce people into fixing their ball marks on the greens, they are going to suffer badly.
Driving range was decent.
I'd love to see this course in excellent condition one day, but...not sure that's going to happen.
So hot this day, plenty of ice water on the course.
It's a nice course that will give you a challenge. It's difficult to find your ball if you go off the fairway just a little. The pace of play was good but not many golfers braved the heat like my group.
Great Shape
Course was in great shape considering the super hot weather we've been having in northern va.
