Pleasant Valley Golf Club

About
Pleasant Valley Golf Club sits just south of Dulles airport, but the expansive layout, which is absent of homes, feels much more secluded. The parkland layout tumbles across a diverse landscape of rolling hills and grassy meadows covered with hardwood forests. There is plenty of diversity throughout the golf course with some holes that are bunker-less contrasting with the links holes that have Scottish-style bunkers. One of the most memorable holes is the par-5 fifth. After an uphill tee shot with a bunker on the right and a waste area on the left the second shot presents multiple choices. To the left you could take a risk with trees and a bunker but you could possibly be rewarded with a better angle for the third shot while the right side option will require a third shot over a large bunker to reach the green.

Mid Winter Gem
Had a 90 minute frost delay but once we got going, had a great round. We never had a wait as the groups ahead of us played quick. Nice relaxing round. Couple of tee boxes are rough. One green has some rot issues, otherwise course is well kept. Sand traps are pristine, some of the best in the area. Will play again.
Solid fall day to play
There was a frost delay to start the morning it the starter managed to get us out shortly after our tee time. Pace was relatively good but had a couple that took theIr time but could have been worse. Greens were nice for the season. Some of the fairways had taken a beating but expected with the time of the year. Definitely will be back in the spring.
Pace of Play
The pace of play was unbearable today. Took us 2 hours to do 6 six holes before the sunset. There were too many beginners that had no consideration for the groups behind them. Can't believe we had to pay full price when we only played 6 holes in two hours. Ridiculous.
Too Slow
We were unable to finish 9 holes because of slow play. The starter had too many groups out too late ... 4 dimes with inexperienced golfers who were all over the course. They need to focus less on crowding the course and more on providing a good experience.
Course in excellent condition excepting a few tee boxex
Overall, a wonderful course. Great layout! Good assortment of blind tee shots. Several difficult par short 4s. Course was in very good condition. Kudos to the sand trap keepers...the bunkers were well groomed and did not lack sand. The greens were a bit tricky with pin placements always seeming to be on a little ridge or dome. Two or three tee boxes had been sodded and so had not been mown...had to use an extra long tee for my driver. Other than that, a great day!
Too SLOW! Avoid this course.
A group in front us was pathetically slow and had no consideration of the groups behind. Obviously they were not qualified to play blue tee and they spent too much time looking for balls in the woods. I called the club house three times and they did nothing to expedite the pace. Not coming back!
Poor condition
Course is pretty beat up. Greens had a lot of damaged portion.
Beautiful course!
Very nice course, and in good shape. Lots of nice views and interesting holes.
Nice Track
Nice track that, like any public course, has its issues with maintenance in certain areas. Nothing over the top bad. Biggest problem was the tee boxes. Other than that, I enjoy this course and do recommend it. PSA TO THE PUBLIC: FIX BALL MARKS AND DIVOTS.
