For the heat of the day, course was in great shape - greens were fast all day long but consistent.
A little bit of a drive but....
This course is in the Front Royal area. It is a nice, but relatively short course. There are some nice elevation changes and some beautiful scenery. The men's whites are pretty close to the women's tees on almost every hole. I loved how quiet it was and the staff was extremely pleasant. The rough is extremely rough, so they are rewarding accuracy. The carts had screens to show the hole layout and distance which was nice since it was our first time playing there. The first tee is just next to the driving range, so if you hit left you may not find your first ball. After that is was a really nice day and some pretty decent golf at a reasonable rate. Will try the north course next time but I would come back.
This course is well maintained.
Course is good except cart path.
I think car path should be paved to prevent the dirt..
Bowling Green South Review
WE LOVE BOWLING GREEN SOUTH. We would honestly prefer it slightly over North just because we normally shoot a little better score-wise. We played on a perfect Sunday, 70 degrees, no wind, and no wait for groups in front of us. VERY GOOD value for the money. We all travel from about 1 hour away (DC and Frederick) because we really enjoy the course and hospitality. It's a great value for your money especially if you take advantage ahead of time on the HOT DEAL option. Course has a lot of holes where you can attack from the tee box (short par 4-s, short par 3-s, drivable par-4s) which makes it SUPER FUN. Overall 10/10 course for the money, pace of play, location, friendliness of staff.
Shenendoah valley is for golfers
Despite being a shorter and easier course, there’s something very charming about this course. Scoring well is pretty easy here but requires solid accuracy. A long drive will leave many short chips for second shot. Def top tier for value in northern va
Solid play until the green
Can’t blame the course or staff for proper maintenance being done to the course. The only reason it’s a 3 star is that the greens were aerated. Give it 2-3weeks and the course will be tip top shelf. I still enjoy playing Bowling Green.
Great course + Great value
This course was in great condition for the middle of December. The staff was friendly. We had our 7-year old golfing with us and everyone was great. The golf carts are state-of-the-art!
Good Affordable course. Not too crowded, but the course conditions weren’t the greatest, particularly the cart paths. The pro shop attendant and snack bar attendants were both friendly and polite. But the starter was not friendly or helpful whatsoever.
Good day for November
It was a nice November day. We enjoyed our round and considering it is November the course was in great condition. Just wish I could have played a little better. ;-)
Mr
Price is very good compare to the condition of golf cource
Great course but...
This is a beautiful course - well maintained t-boxes, fairways and greens, and very picturesque in late fall. Golfers' experience could be improved by repairing the many parts of the cart-paths which were broken, damaged, and pot-holed. This is the first time my friend and I have used carts that can be 'forward motion disabled' by the onboard GPS. Once, I have to back-up the cart in the rough because it was 'outside' the marked area. Once, my friend had to back-up the cart on the fairway because of loss of GPS signal. These incidents caused loss rhythm and momentum of play. It is a terrible design to allow the GPS to disable the forward motion of the cart using pre-determined algorithms. Flashing a message on the display should suffice.
