Why is the hot deal price on this course $20 over (Not including fees) the highest price the Course itself lists?
Fun course despite terrible conditions and maintenance staff
I enjoyed my round because the course was a challenge. But the course is in terrible shape. I could handle the clumpy and long fairway grass and the very long(6inch+) rough but the green were horrendous. Most of them were half grass and half dirt. None of them were cut to the same length and some of them the mower missed spots. That will keep me from coming back. The maintenance staff seemed like they started at the same time as the first tee time so they were hurried to mow and move the flag locations as we were playing. One of the mowers noticed we were trying to tee off on the hole he was mowing and decided to finish while we waited. Every other place I’ve ever been to the mower will get out of the way and shut the machine off for your tee shot.
I made a point to take pictures but this app isn’t letting me upload them.
This is for all the bad review a.
I almost didn't play this course because of the bad reviews that it had received in the past few days. I must say that the people reviewing the course MUST BE ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE GOLFERS. I found the course to be in decent shape. The fairways need a little love. And the greens as well but ultimately it is not in the shape that these others golfers claimed. My only suggestion is the fair ways and greens need to be taken care of a little better.
Terrible conditions
The course was in the worse condition I've ever seen in 37 years of golfing. Other then the fairways being cut I don't think the course was touched. The tee boxes were sand and weeds. The greens were in horrific shape. Putting was a joke. The sand traps were filled with weeds. If you did not land on the fairway forget about finding your ball. I plugged two balls on the fairway and couldn't find one. I normally lose 0-2 balls. I lost 8. $50 waisted.
Declined since last played
This was never a top course. But I was saddened by the degree of regress this course showed. Still some beautiful homes lining the holes. But the greens were really inconsistent from okay on a few holes to down right terrible. Fairways were the same with first cut being way too high to play out of or even find my ball. Tee boxes were weedy, mossy, and just not very well cared for.. Giving this place some TLC is in order.
Just say NO!!
I would run as far away from this course as I possibly could. It's not even worth one dollar to play. The greens are terrible with moss all over them. The roof is 5 inches long and the fairways are 2 inches long. There are large rocks in the middle of the fairways. There are weeds growing everywhere near the greens.
I must've lost like 12 balls because the grass is so thick. I would not wish this golf course on my worst enemy. I do not think they even have a maintenance crew there. I do not understand how they can charge you money to play at this course.
My recommendation is to not play at this course and to go to any other courses in the area.
The Cedars Golf Club
Where to begin......
Friendly staff. However there must be a computer issues. Paid through Golfnow. They had no record.
The fairways were barley beyond cow pasture grade. Several had very little grass and will be bare this summer when it gets dry. The fairways were just mowed, after several weeks of not being mowed. Bunches of dead mowed grass everywhere.
The rough on the front was sadistic - maybe 6 to 8 inches. I doubt if the pros play in rough like what was experienced. The rough on the back was marginally better.
The greens were slow and bumpy.
This course was not ready for play, and it will not be ready for several weeks.
There are also some safety issues on some stairs down to one of the tee boxes.
We should have been paid to play this course. It will be a very long time before I play it again.
IN SUMMARY, A VERY BAD EXPERIENCE!!!!!
Don’t golf here
Tee boxes, fairways and greens are terrible. Felt like golfing in a cow pasture.
Cedars golf course
The course has been redesigned as a result of a new housing development and the course layout is now kind of awkward. Also, the course itself is in pretty rough shape.
Potential, but definitely needs work
I played this course once they reopened a week before their grand reopening since redesigning the course.
The good: The course layout was great, definitely not one of those courses where you take driver out every hole. Dog legs left and right, some short, some long holes, elevated greens, and hitting down onto a green. Makes for a good challenge.
The bad: The course was a little soggy as it rained a bit the day before, but still largely playable. As they have redesigned the course any GPS range fingers you use are useless until updated.
The ugly: course maintenance, course maintenance, course maintenance. Some of the greens were unkempt it was like putting off fairway grass. A few holes in the fairways had little pebbles covering the fairways. If you took a divot you would definitely damage your club face.
Overall, the course has potential to be a good course if they maintained it better. Will return in a few months in the summer to see if they maintain it better. Until then I dont recommend playing here for now.
No current reviews
This was a well kept course with a challenging layout... the last time I played greens were fuzzy and very soft and ridiculously slow... I checked reviews today and was disappointed that they were 4 years old which doesn’t reflect the current conditions ... I hope it gets back to its previous condition. I went by today 04/14/2019 and the practice putting greens were less than desirable.. best of luck in bringing this course back...
Great value, great staff
New carts, Course condition above avg, Pace of play was less then 4 hours, We will return
This review and all others are too old to be considered as accurately reflecting course conditions or quality of layout since a lot of changes have been made.
Nice course too bad poorly run
This is a great course, but they want to compare themselves with another local very nice course
Great deck too bad they dont have good food and beer to serve out on the deck
very fun and challenging course
Was my first time at the cedars and i can't wait to get back. From the clubhouse to the course my experience was awesome.
Value Questionable
The golf course is in nice condition but I thing it is a little to spendy for what you get. If the price came down $10 to $15, it would be a place that I would play more often
Strategic holes, know your directional shots.
Excellent day for Golf, spent quality time with 3 of my sons, 2 juniors and 1 adult, we had a blast.
Great course and value!
Great course and value! Cedars will test every club in your bag. Course conditions were great and speed of play was outstanding! I'd recommend this course to all.
Good deal with cart for two
We had a good time there, course was nice and surprisingly not crowded at all for a Saturday afternoon. We will be back again.
Going Home Again
Had not played the Cedars but one other time in the past 25 years. Both times since the most recent ownership group took over. They have made this course even better than it was at it's former peak. Changed the layout enough to keep it challenging, conditions are great and it's a great place to enjoy after the round. Greatly look forward to my next round there even though I've got to come from McMinnville, OR to play.
Fun Day of golf!
Fun day got a great deal from Golfnow and didn't lose as many balls as usual :) only played the front nine twice that could be why. Awesome day overall
The owners of this golf course should not be allowed to own a golf course. This course is probably in the worst shape of any golf course in the PNW.
Rough has been mowed 1x since opening 3 weeks ago. It should have been mowed at least 3x..
Greens are rough, bumpy, slow, dry, and cracking.
I will never play here again until changes are made.
