The Riverbend Golf Complex sits along the Green River in Kent Valley, Wash. Owned and operated by the City of Kent, the complex offers a championship, 18-hole course and a mini-golf course. The 18-hole course is one of the busiest in the state with more than 65,000 rounds played on it annually. The golf course sprawls across a relatively flat landscape, making it easily walkable. Though it may not be hilly, that doesn't mean it's trouble free. There are more than 50 bunkers strategically placed throughout and three lakes come into play as well. The layout is player friendly, with enough variety to appeal to players of all skill levels.

Great track to get a quality 18 in in 3.5 hours walking.

I like the early tee times. Great for morning workout before work.

so-so

Course has great potential. Pace of play was terrible. Driving range is across the street have to dodge cars to warm up. Lost 6 balls just in the rough areas right next to the fairways. Well in play but dissapeared. Cant stand it when players have to join your group. Great course conditions though but needs a huge makeover.

Spring in Kent

The weather warm low 70's, clear, and breezy. And though there was casual water in some traps and fairway edges the greens and fairways remained surprisingly firm. Also, it was very crowded for a Monday. We had to wait on almost every shot - not my favorite thing.

Nice pace due to bad weather makes it a great day to golf.

Rain made it a great day to golf at a easy fast pace.

Dodged another bullet

Found a great tee time rate on GNow and figured even if we got rained out after 6 holes, we were doing fine. A lot of rain had fallen in the past few days, yet the fairways were in great shape. Only a few wet spots on a few fairways. Many of the bunkers had standing water though.
The greens are in great shape. Rolling smooth and quick.

Very Good Course Condition, Few Wet Spots from Recent Heavy Rain

Very good spring golf conditions. Good fairways. Excellent roll on greens. Would play the course again. We rode, but its very walkable. Target pace is 4.5 hours, which we beat.

Good course

Nice course that is well maintained and has a decent pace of play. Some great views of the mountain (Mt. Rainier?) on some holes. Even though I didn't play great, I thoroughly enjoyed this course and will definitely be playing it again.

As a golfer that moved up to the Seattle area from Southern California last year, I am not used to having to hibernate the clubs during the winter, so this was the first time I was able to get out on to the course in six months.

Beautiful Weather - Rough-rough

Riverbend is always a pleasure to play: flat - open - great views of Mt. Rainier and a huge Eagles nest w/mating pair off of 6. That said - it's been wet recently and the rough was really rough. Balls got swallowed up if you got out of the fairway. Pace of play was great. Only a couple holes did we have to wait for the group in front of us. It played this way for all. Definitely a fun round.

Only because of the heavy rain

It was exciting playing with standing water on the greens on most of the holes. Gave it a fun challenge. But all in all fun course to play and maintained beautifully

Nice walkable Muni course

Beautiful day for golf. I haven't played this course since 1999. Nice average condition but greens were not great! Some were like putting on a waffle. could be time of year. It would be nice if players would rake the traps when you are done. Respect the game even if your not playing Newcastle! This could be such a beautiful course.

The black gentlemen at the short nine

The gentlemen at the short nine was very rude and acted like we we're inconviencing him to do his job. We made a reservation on golf now to play the short nine. We showed him our reservation on our phone and he told us we need a printed copy of the reservation and again acted like we were making his job difficult. I understand that he doesn't have the best job in the world but he shouldn't make his customers feel bad for wanting to golf at his place of employment. If you don't like your job find a new one so that people who can at least pretend to be nice can have a job and your customers will be inclined to return and spend more money at your establishment.

Great Early Afternoon Round

Booked well in advance, showed up close to tee time and got pushed back about 30 minutes. Once on the course, pace of play was decent but a bit slow ahead of us. I could see later in the day the groups were very clustered up and seemed like it would be less enjoyable when busier. Definitely a course I'll want to return to.

Good greens

For as much as this course is played the greens are in really good shape. Fairways are running fast making driving the ball fun if you can keep it straight. A little inconsistant from green to green with approach shots, some stick and some bounce and release. Always fun at the bend!

Nice greens, easy walk

Great value with booking on golf now. At regular rates, this is just an average, easy walking course but at the $20 green fee it is exceptional value for dollar. Nice service in the proshop and clubhouse. Would definitely play here again

All the greens kept good maintained

I like most the greens, because it hard ground , make the putting more challenge.
And also some fairways with narrow curve made more harder.
