The Riverbend Golf Complex sits along the Green River in Kent Valley, Wash. Owned and operated by the City of Kent, the complex offers a championship, 18-hole course and a mini-golf course. The 18-hole course is one of the busiest in the state with more than 65,000 rounds played on it annually. The golf course sprawls across a relatively flat landscape, making it easily walkable. Though it may not be hilly, that doesn't mean it's trouble free. There are more than 50 bunkers strategically placed throughout and three lakes come into play as well. The layout is player friendly, with enough variety to appeal to players of all skill levels.

The black gentlemen at the short nine

The gentlemen at the short nine was very rude and acted like we we're inconviencing him to do his job. We made a reservation on golf now to play the short nine. We showed him our reservation on our phone and he told us we need a printed copy of the reservation and again acted like we were making his job difficult. I understand that he doesn't have the best job in the world but he shouldn't make his customers feel bad for wanting to golf at his place of employment. If you don't like your job find a new one so that people who can at least pretend to be nice can have a job and your customers will be inclined to return and spend more money at your establishment.

the course was fine

The course was fine, the only problem was the sand traps, they were like cement. Otherwise the course was good.

Great Early Afternoon Round

Booked well in advance, showed up close to tee time and got pushed back about 30 minutes. Once on the course, pace of play was decent but a bit slow ahead of us. I could see later in the day the groups were very clustered up and seemed like it would be less enjoyable when busier. Definitely a course I'll want to return to.

Good greens

For as much as this course is played the greens are in really good shape. Fairways are running fast making driving the ball fun if you can keep it straight. A little inconsistant from green to green with approach shots, some stick and some bounce and release. Always fun at the bend!

Nice greens, easy walk

Great value with booking on golf now. At regular rates, this is just an average, easy walking course but at the $20 green fee it is exceptional value for dollar. Nice service in the proshop and clubhouse. Would definitely play here again

All the greens kept good maintained

I like most the greens, because it hard ground , make the putting more challenge.
And also some fairways with narrow curve made more harder.

Greens and fairways tee to Green great condition!

The course was in great shape. I would highly recommend it to any mid to high handicap golfer. It's fairly forgiving, but has enough hazards to be challenging. The greens were in super shape but very puttable (if that's a word). The fairways were terrific and most of all we had a great round of golf.

Pace of Play

I would recommend this course with the caveat that the pace of play is very slow. I think the starter needs to do a better job of staggering groups and the course marshal needs to do a better job of pushing groups along so they stay on pace. It was a long frustrating round but the layout is good.

Greens were good speed. Maybe a little too soft, but still quick

The course was packed. I don't mean that in a bad way because we did tee off in the middle of the day. The greens had a great speed to them. They may have been a little too soft. The overall condition of the course was great, however. Just as expected in the middle of the summer.

Nice course

The course is flat, but has a lot of challenges and hazards. The only negative is the sand in the traps, it's either too hard when wet and too soft when they dry out.

Dry, Straight, flat and fun.

Even though it rained a bit the night before (and sprinkled us on a few holes), the fairways were fairly fast and the greens were good. No oddball holes, not much elevations change. There was enough variety to keep you thinking. A fun Sunday round!

Can't beat the hot deal price of $29 with a power cart

The round was slow and there are a lot of beginners out there but for the deal you can't really beat it. Course is in actually pretty good condition for the price. Greens are firm and rolled pretty true. I am a 4.2 handicapper and I never felt like I missed a put because the greens bounced my ball away from the course. Worth checking out.

The rough cut was way too long

They need to break out the mower and when they do, don't leave chucks of grass in the fairway

Riverbend wants their money

This course is maintained very well for its location. Unfortunately it sits at the bottom of a valley therefor, it can be very soggy. They seem to overload this course and push you to keep pace. Recently played a 3hr 55min round in a foursome with carts and were told to pick up the pace 4 times. Seems to me that the course is holding to its reputation of being "the busiest" around by cramming groups together to make more money. the layout tends to slow the play down, other groups will be in your fairways forcing you to wait to hit shots. I found it sad that the staff was so pushy considering all of this.

Need to mow

Lost a ball on the first hole. Non fairway grass needs to be cut on the entire course. Balls just disappear. Admitidly I missed the fairway, but there's no way I should not have been able to find it. Speed of play would be increased if rough was cut down. Fairways also on the long side but that wasn't such a big deal.
