Mint Valley Golf Course

Great course and wonderful condition, but the greens could be very tricky. Fairways were in excellent shape And the rough was not overgrown. Had a great time and will be back again.

First time playing there. It far exceeded my expectations. Course is plush. I somehow managed to avoid the bunkers so I can’t say how they are but the greens were brutally fast. Our whole group struggled to get the pace right. Will definitely be back there soon.

We love this course. The layout is such that you can play every shot in your bag. The greens and play was little slow in some places and but overall it’s a great experience. The staff is amazingly friendly and know us when we come in so it’s a fun start to the round.

We want to keep this course a secret so it doesn’t get too popular!

Played today behind a women’s group event that brought the pace to a crawl. The groups were creating 5’s without permission. Additionally, a 7 minute lag between tee times at a municipal is nonsense. The average muni golfer here is a 15 minute/hole hack. Including myself. The snail pace is compounded when the starter is zoned out letting people start out of order, breaking up 4’s to 2x2’s, etc. Get organized, hold the groups and duffers accountable, push them along, close the gaps and we’ll all have a better day. Starters and marshals need to earn their privileges. Not just sit around for free golf.

This course is in great shape. There is more roll than there ever has been this early in the season. The rough areas are getting a little too cleaned out. Keep some there to make the course tougher. The groundskeepers do an awesome job!!

Now you need to get enough kitchen staff to have food every day.

I followed a foursome most of the round. They fell behind by3+ holes by the end of the round and would not allow us to play through. I called the club house and complained and they didn't even inform the marshals to check on the slow play. One marshal I spoke to after I jumped ahead and finished 45 minutes ahead of them on the last 3 holes said it really wasn't that bad because it was only 4.5 hours for us although we had to jump ahead and the slow group was still out there. They wouldn't let us play through at 10 when they had every opportunity to do so. This is sloppy course management and it goes to other areas of the course. No one bothers to rake bunkers. It is just local player sloppiness with no enforcement of proper procedures.

I was worried about drainage after new sun but lots of prior rain. Drained surprisingly well. Greens are always great.

Frost delay led to being invited to join men’s club for the day. Historically not the best vibe playing with them (or behind them) but gave it a shot. Mistakes happen nobodies perfect. Stepping in someone’s line shouldn’t result to being insulted and asked the leave simultaneously. There’s a certain level of fun that just cannot be achieved playing with some members of this club. Hind sight would have been better off playing first and alone. Strongly recommend teeing off before their group if you get the chance.
