Delphi golf course
I enjoy this course a couple times per year. They do have a lot of greens in bad shape at this time. We did have a foursome who were very very slow. They only had 3 sets of clubs and we finally skipped a hole to allow us to finish timely. We did tell the staff when we finished.
4 Long Time Friends
It was an OK day of golfing but extremely hot for Olympia, WA. Prior to beginning the round, I had an in-depth conversation with the gentleman at Check-In. He informed me of the work that had been and is being done on the course as it had been quite awhile since I played there. The heat of the day as well as the recent warm weather in the area has caused problems with many of the greens and course in general. Very dry and greens in tough shape due to heat and sprinkler problems with the system. Still an OK day of golf. Seems the course is endeavoring to improve the overall condition of the course.
Needs TLC
Tee boxes need mowing, fairway has bunch of rocks and dirt in the middle of fairway and greens need to be rolled and reworked very lumpy and like putting over speed bumps.
Hidden gem
Serene 9 hole golf course that can be challenging with the trees. There was a lot of maintenance but the greens are varied, bunkers were pretty good, pace of play wasn't too slow, and the staff were friendly and helpful.
Fun Course to Play
This was the first time that I had played this course after traveling past it many times I the past. I have actually only started playing golf in the past few years because my work schedule consumed much of my time with my leisure hours being spent with my family.
It is a nice simple course but can have it's challenges depending upon the type of play that people are used to at other courses. It is a course where a person can work on honing their skills and also work on improving their respective play especially chip shots on the greens.
It wasn't crowded and my foursome didn't feel pressured by others on the course.
So in closing, I highly recommend this course and I thoroughly enjoyed myself and I plan to come back in future.
9 hole fun challenge
In the trees and a true challenge for accuracy course work is being done.
Because of the trees some areas don't get the sun and water needed for a Nice green course.
Course is fun, but could use some TLC
There were a few tee boxes that need some help, or at a minimum, better rotation of the tee blocks. This will become even more important as summer approaches and the weather gets hotter and drier.
Friendly staff but thats about it
Wanted to play another 9 after playing Tumwater. Wanted to get Delphi off the list. Muddy everywhere. Maybe the dumbest layout of a course ever...the greens were insanely furry and extreme. Not sure if the course fits the people who play it.. The pace was so slow due to the group ahead of us...the gentleman in the proshop was very kind though.
Interesting
This 9 hole layout is surprisingly tough. There isn't a hole that's over 350. Putting greens are well kept, but are very tricky. I've never seen two people who putt decently, miss so many 3 footers. But we had fun time.
Delphi 9-hole...not 18 !
We drove from Seattle - nearly 1.5 hours to reach this "cute" course on the SW side of Olympia. The staff was welcoming and excellent...but, the course was extremely strange. We had NO IDEA it was a 9 hole course...if we did, wouldn't have gone. The first hole is nearly an 180 dogleg right...and it's only 150 yrds with 100 foot trees in the way. After losing 2 balls in people's yards...it was already enough. the next 3 holes were 150 up, down and back. Needless to say, the course wasn't what we were hoping for. it IS VERY beautiful - probably the nicest executive 9 I played, but, I felt misled with the online offering. We quit after 9 (paid for 18) and called it a day.
Great Value
Very well maintained challenging little course. Statt are always courteous and helpful.
Challenging 9 Hole Executive.
Beautiful Setting. Narrow fairways with BIG TREES. GREAT Condition. 4 par 3's and 5 Par 4's Very GOOD Shape. Par 3's are longer and Par 4's are reachable with 2nd shot. Water on some par 3's. Very enjoyable. Wife and I play at least once a week at a different course while travelling in our RV.
Washington Golf
Expect muddy and soggy conditions before June in Washington State. This was the case yesterday. My only issue was that there were no rakes around the sand traps.
Fun little course
We got out 18 holes in just over 3 hours. A fun course, if you do not have the 5 hours to play a full size golf course. A little wet, but with our winter everything is wet this year. We will be back.
