Mount Si Golf Course
About
Located in the scenic Snoqualmie Valley less than 40 minutes east of Seattle, Mount Si Golf Course is known for its beautiful natural setting and panoramic views. The origins of the course date back to 1930s. The course that stands today is the result of many years of updates and improvements, and has become one of the most popular public golf courses in the area. The player-friendly layout is forgiving enough for beginners with only a few sand bunkers in play but it's more challenging than the scorecard would lead you to believe. The par 4s play short and tight and the four par-5 holes are the course's most memorable. The rolling landscape provides challenging breaks and tricky pin-placements on the greens. There are some tough holes but Mount Si is not an overly formidable golf course.

The best part of the course were the greens
which seemed to have been getting enough water. Some of the areas around the greens were in very bad shape from lack of water though. I guess the golf course can get a pass on that given the high temperatures and lack of rain lately. One thing the course could easily do something about though are the ball washers on the tees. I don't think a single one had fresh water and soap in them. And some were bone dry. Pace of play was slow, but expected...our threesome finished in 4:35 walking. It's in a greta location and Mt Si provides lots of eye candy.
Fairways are in rough shape.
Mount Si doesn't water their fairways, so the lack of rain has really hurt them. A lot of dead spots in the fairways.
Excellent course with Mt Si as a scenic backdrop
Mt Si is an excellent golf course that is well managed and maintained. It has some very interesting holes that require smart shot making. I recommend it to family and friends.
Fun and nice course
Of all the courses close to me, this is by far my favorite. The scenery is nice ( beautiful view of Mt. Si), and the course is well laid out. However, I always play one of the earliest tee times the course offers. Every time the grounds grew is mowing or plugging holes. Normally, this isn't a problem, but this most recent round sprinklers were left on over tee boxes; this meant I had to rush my time on the box or get wet. Also, a few members of the grounds crew are not very friendly. One of them told me he would try to be courteous while plugging greens, but told me as well that he didn't have time to wait for me to golf and be on my phone(my scorecard/gps is on my phone, who really has someone to talk to at 5:45 in the morning). Some of the clean up members don't even acknowledge your presence even if you are friendly. The only nice grounds-crew seem to be the mowers. However, all of this won't stop me from playing the course, especially since GolfNow gives such a great deal. Worth getting up early and seeing the views and playing a challenging, but fun course.
Early start to day...
I had a grounds keeper "follow" me on at least 8 holes. when I asked if I could "play thru" was told NO! Yet he'd rev the engine when I was on tee box and on putting green. Miserable! Finally skipped a hole and played last 4 holes without his obnoxious interruption.
I prefer early mornings for speed of play, (getting up at 3:30 am) but on this day it was a HUGE mistake!
Check in person was also ungracious...maybe too early???
Not going back here for awhile...
Mt Si is one of my favorite golf venues
I enjoy Mt Si Golf. The Course is well maintained & the scenic beauty / location are great.
However, it is likely I will not choose to play Mt Si again on a Sunday afternoon. Perhaps like other golf courses, the marshal's day apparently ends at noon on Sunday because the back-up on several holes in the afternoon was 2-3 groups waiting on a tee!
Mt Si will continue to be a favorite...I will, however, be more selective when I choose to play there.
A bit expensive for the shape.
Mt. Si was a good experience. My first time here. Beautiful surroundings, friendly staff, great pace. But, the greens are in rough shape - a bumpy mix of grass and po. A couple of the tees need badly to leveled...esp. the ladies tees. Old sand traps have been allowed to grow to grass, creating very annoying "pits" with even more obtrusive mounds in front of s couple of greens. $90+ for two people and a cart? Not a value at that level. GolfNow prices are the same as Pro Shop every day rates.
Give this place one day with a good back-hoe operator and a designer/landscaper, drop the rate a bit...and this would be a gem!!
Great Shape
Coarse is in great shape. Not a lot protecting the greens but pin placements makes for a good challenge . I enjoy the coarse, it is fun !!
Poor pace of play
Everything was good except the pace of play. It took us three hours and fifteen minutes to play 12 holes. All day long there were three groups on each hole. We never saw a Marshall the entire day. We won't be going back!!!
Nothing exciting, but great local course
Overall it's a great local course with adequate yardage and a par 72 to make it a full challenge. My main complaint is that it's mostly inexperienced or hack golfers, so if you're a low handicap you may get frustrated with the slower play. I almost always play twilight because I'm cheap and I think I've skipped a hole or two to get past a slow group 7 of the 8 times I've played here. Conditions are hit and miss but it does drain REALLY well from my experiences. Oh and I have to include that the views of Mount Si are spectacular - this can make it really fun for an out of towner.
scenic course
I think Mt Si Golf course is a gem - I also think it is more difficult than 117 slope from blue tees. The course was in great condition and it appears that maintenance does the little extras to make it nicer than most public courses. T boxes were great - greens were a bit bumpy, but overall very good for the amount of play it gets. I would put the four par 5's up against any course in the NW collectively. Par 4's are not long, but tighter than most other courses. Mt Si has more challenge than the scorecard shows, it is an enjoyable course to play. All they need to do, is work on pace of play. Right now, it is referred to as Mt SLOW.
A Gem of a Course
Mt. Si is a course that you can play in under 4 hours. This is not the case with Muni's in Seattle of Bellevue. I would rather drive the extra distance and play a course that is fun, well maintained yet still challenging. The staff are nice and friendly and seem to appreciate your business. Greens are typically in good condition. A good value and a fun course.
Nice course
The fairways & greens are in great shape. The course does challenge you. The Golfnow fee was the best deal ever. Plus hotdog & coke for $5 is another great deal.
My. Si
The front9 was closed for plugging and sanding. Wish I would have known! Should have told me. Plus course was slow due to the maint because it was a bit overbooked
Who put that mountain there?
Left Seattle at 6:30 am with 45 degree temperatures. Arrived at the course at 7:20 with 31 degree temperatures. Guess who isn't smart enough to throw in an extra jacket?
Absolutely incredibly gorgeous day. Golf course to match the day. Sun finally got over the mountain at 10:00 am and immediately took off jacket. Played the back nine in short sleeves. It was glorious!
Thank you,

One of the top courses in the state! Loved every hole. The staff was friendly the greens were perfect even chatted with the owner who was personable, and knowledgeable. Thanks
Absolutely Great!
If you are missing the days when people behind the counter treated you like a guest....? That's how I feel at Mt Si. Restaurant is big enough to hold a couple of foursomes together without a problem.
Thanks Mt Si Staff!
The course is in incredible shape for the 3rd week of February!
Nice course with great scenery.
First time playing Mt. Si, weather was rainy when we started but cleared up quickly. Course played very well for being slightly damp. Greens were well maintained.
what a scenery!
Excellent view to Mt. Si, but very slow pace because of short interval between two teams.
Hello Speed785,
I'm sorry for your poor experience.
Our marshals take pretty thorough notes, so I can assume you played in the afternoon on Sunday this weekend as 18 holes took 4 hours and 40 minutes at one point which is the pace you are describing.
Weekend afternoons tend to be slower for us as the course is full of all skill levels of golfers. We suggest for any group wishing to play a faster round to tee off earlier in the day.
We also have a very accommodating rain check policy as sometimes things come up and players are not able to complete there round. If you ever decide to come back and find yourself in a situation where you cannot play the back 9 for any reason just stop by the golf shop and our staff will give you a rain check for your back 9 the next time you come out.
We're always open to customer suggestions to make our course a better place to play. If you have any suggestions to help us improve the pace of play please let me know.
Take Care
